This is again a sign of dementia—that he didn’t understand the question, heard it too literally, and couldn’t make the leap to inderstand the gist of the question. Talking to him about anything of substance must be utterly exhausting.

The Embasssy is not in McLean. There are, however, a lot of Saudi owned homes in McLean, especially on the “Gold Coast”. They are near Langley.

There was at least one more near miss recently too.

Can’t believe someone was dumb enough to actually ask him to visit the collision site. He should’ve said oh You mean in the middle of the sky?

These are softball questions. Obviously the reporter meant the site of the recovery efforts. the "collision site" can encompass the entire area, not simply the point in space where the aircraft collided.

But more to the point, this is an opportunity for him to praise the first responders, explain the importance of the effort to recover information that will help us find out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again, and once again express condolences to the families. In other words, an easy opportunity to look/be presidential.

But he's a nasty POS with a personality disorder, so instead he's unnecessarily combative.

Do you have a link to the interview?

There were 64 VIPs on board to their family and friends.

+1. AND no one has said there were not VIPs on board prior to the stop at Langley.

FFS, the 64 refers to the plane, because it's a response to an idiotic comment from the administration that there were "no VIPs" on the plane. You are talking about the helicopter. Which did not stop at Langley. Read the comment above, about what choppers do when near Langley. You might learn something real, you conspiracy nut.

He's combative on a good day, but today he was particularly so, because all he cares about is optics, and he was furious that this happened while he was President. Which is why he said it was the fault of Biden and DEI. In private, he's probably super mad at the helicopter pilot and saying stuff like: "Why couldn't he have crashed before the Inauguration????".

Why would it be weird for him to meet with first responders?

He was triggered bc he actually can’t swim. His response was that of a cornered child.

I think he can’t hold back at all due to dementia. My personal opinion.

I agree. He made that tacky comment about praying for souls before they announced no survivors and keeps saying things that show he’s not putting 1 and 1 together.

You mean 2 and 2?

There are various homes in the region called "embassy residences" that are not the embassies themselves. No idea if this neighborhood has any, but our neighborhood does. The properties are considered sovereign in the same way the embassies are.

On Reddit, the helicopter was noted as being above or at an address in McLean just outside Langley HQ.

Saud royalty, from what I’ve heard locally

Yes. The full address of the house is on Reddit. I did not see a screen grab from flight trackers that looks legit so I am not sure…

The concensus of this address, which does indeed belong to a Saudi affiliate, is that all helicopters turn off their transponders when in/near CIA (for privacy and security reasons). They then turn them back on when they've left the property, which could be variable given their flight path and if they're going by mileage or time or their own judgement. So what is most likely is that their transponder started recording again over this residence. Not that they took off from it.

Probably true, but what are the chances it would be the Saudi Embassy. This is how conspiracy stories thrive. What the F are the chances......

Also, why is the Saudi Embassy so close to the CIA?

Every flight probably crosses some embassy's property. This is DC.

I thought the evidence is that the Helo location STARTED at this embassy affiliated location. No?

The transponder started working. Maybe the Saudi's jam radio signals.

The diagram shows the plane swinging out to line up for the newly assigned runway. If they were parallel, height would not have mattered. If you have flown into DCA there are often helicopters close and parallel. Sending flight to that new runway would have been fine but helicopter was on that route. ATC only asked repeatedly if had plane in view, did not direct more maneuverable helicopter to pull up, turn left, anything that would have changed the trajectory or say a crash was imminent.
