Fire in upper NW?

They would have the knowledge of it's workings and know how to disable it and erase the video footage. They also would potentially have a generally knowledge of the family's schedule after going to their home for a maintenance repair/upgrade. I've had to have my alarm company come out multiple times for various reasons and each time it has crossed my mind that the employees certainly have a job of opportunity.

But why this family as oppose to all the other wealthy DC families on their client list?

It wasn't the alarm company. Come on people!

They could have had the alarm system off since they were home. They could have also made the parents erase the security camera footage in the 10+ hours they were held hostage.

I would think that with the surrounding houses alarm systems and the multitude of traffic cameras around the city the police have great video of the comings and goings in the area.

If the perps were holding everyone hostage overnight, it's not too farfetched that the victims were threatened and terrorized. Home invading, fire setting murderers aren't nice people.

Yes, I recognize that it's a likely scenario, but the media is reporting it like, "we just learned that victims were bound and threatened" rather than "we just learned that victims were bound. they were likely threatened and terrorized while being held hostage overnight."

My question is - based on the reports - that it sounds like they uncovered something that confirms the likelihood of being threatened and terrorized.

I agree. Which makes these criminals either very stupid or very smart. With a lot of anger/hatred toward this family, and to a 10 year old in particular.

Someone posted up thread that the firefighters found $40k in the package.

So they didn't even take the money?? even stranger

Maybe because they didn't think that Savvas delivered as promised and thus they murdered everyone and burned the house down.

In this case, could it be a signal/ warning to someone else that was involved in presumed business dealings?

They were not "any" at the 10 year old. They were torturing the child to get something out of the parents.

It takes a lot of anger to torture a 10 year old.

What do you think the 10 year old did? Refuse to lend them his Starwars toys? That is not anger--he was a pawn in a horrible, horrible crime. He was being used as leverage.

Didn't the employee who dropped off the cash in front of the house, think that was odd?!? It's a large amount of cash and "just leave it in front of the house" C'mon.

Would think this person would have a clue and call the cops or something.

So sad..I wanted to think they put the boy in his bedroom so he would not see all the violence happening to his parents/housekeeper ...so sad that it was the other way around. Poor baby boy..may he rest in peace.

So, so horrible. And you know that his parents would have given the attackers anything in the world to make it stop. Makes this so sickening.
