Fire in upper NW?

QUOTING - "In this case, could it be a signal/ warning to someone else that was involved in presumed business dealings?"

I think this is absolutely a sign to the other business associates involved that they might be next.
The "what they wanted" could be a list of business associates, their addresses and personal information so they could also complete hits on them.
These were hired "professionals" not the people that were wanting the revenge.

If the family had the security system that collects video onto another outside server, everything up to their system being disabled is known to the security company and the police. Cloud storage.

Another thing, I saw the cameras on the outside of their home. They saw the person or persons at the front door/back door on their monitors. They recognized whomever it was and felt comfortable letting them in. Could be they were expected but no one knew of their bad intentions.

I see everyone coming up my driveway and knocking on my door. I speak to them through an intercom. I NEVER open my door to anyone unless I know them and am expecting them. No one can enter my backyard without me knowing and giving them permission. There is no reason for anyone to enter my backyard at all. My utilities are outside of my privacy fence.

I'm not even wealthy. If I were, I'd have my whole place locked down so hard even a fly buzzing around would sound an alarm.

To all the posters who have expressed so much distress about the latest news. The little boy was not only murdered, he was tortured. I hope this post offers some comfort. I have a friend who is completely grounded, successful and brilliant. I prefaced with that because I want it to be clear he's not a crystal-gazer or anything. Just a grounded, good human. When he was a kid he almost drowned. He struggled at first but after a very short period of pain he literally eft his body behind. He described it as peaceful, not scary and he didn't fight it at all. He saw his mother and she told him she loved him and it was okay to go. He also saw every moment of his life pass before him, almost like he was reliving his whole life at once, with total clarity.

Obviously he didn't die - a sudden current pushed him back to the surface of the water. The only reason I'm posting this is because I hope that the human experience is universal and that we all leave our bodies before we die and that we don't experience the pain and torture, in particular of a brutal death. None of us can know what happens and what he experienced, but maybe - maybe - we can take a little comfort in the hope that the son's (as well as the parents' and vera's) deaths weren't really something that they lived through - i know this probably doesn't make a lot of sense. I just so so so hope that people who are subjected to violence and torture have that same experience of leaving their bodies and don't actually experience the pain and suffering.

And I really hope they catch the psychopaths who did this.

Thank you for posting that.

Things seem to have been so unplanned and disorganized. It seems like some drug-addled ex-con group that just thought hey let's rob a rich house and then things just went horribly wrong. So unspeakable.

It seems like they thought that if they gave the attackers what they wanted, it would stop, which is so heartbreaking. Obviously any parent would give any amount of money to make it stop. That's what makes it seem personal, but I just can't imagine that a personal attack would not have been planned better.

And if anyone ever breaks into my house, I plan to fight like they are going to kill me from the beginning--do not get tied up without a fight, yell into the phone for help, whatever it takes, assuming all along that you are not getting out of it alive and might as well fight.

This reminds me of that case in Richmond where the family (parents and two little girls) was murdered by two thugs from Anacostia and the house was burned after the family killed. I think this is going to be a gang of low lifes from southeast or PG county. Maybe posing as repairmen or something like that. People with absolutely no regard for human life.

I am sickened by the news about the little boy. What kind of world do we live in? just barbaric. Rest in peace little one.

Could be. Think of all the carjackings where people have been shot for their car. People either value human life and have empathy for others or they do not. I remember some young girl shot in the chest for her Ford Explorer by her apartment in Pentagon City a ways back by some thugs from DC. They didn't have to kill her to get the car but they did.

What I don't get is how they know he was tortured? I thought I read his body was burned beyond recognition. Maybe we (or some of the news stations) are reading too much into the comments from the police.

That was heartbreaking. I really dislike the posters accusing the housekeepers of being involved.

The same article said he had lacerations to his body.

Someone posted up thread that the firefighters found $40k in the package.

Didn't the employee who dropped off the cash in front of the house, think that was odd?!? It's a large amount of cash and "just leave it in front of the house" C'mon.

Would think this person would have a clue and call the cops or something.

I keep reading this here, but I don't think this has been actually confirmed anywhere.

No one said the dead housekeeper was involved. In fact she was brought to work at this home by the surviving housekeeper-it all seems set up. The surviving housekeeper is very suspicious in my opinion.

They all had "lacerations" to their bodies - that's how they died! It does not necessarily mean he was tortured any more than the others.

They said he had lacerations on his body. I assume his face was burned beyond recognition. In fact, they said 3 people (Phillip, Amy, and Savvas) all had lacerations. The maid did not, she might of been the one they described with a bloody head and the woman they gave cpr to that was alive but died later?
