By Taylor’s own admission, mom is her therapist and matchmaker and according to many, Dad is still stepping in to solve her business and legal problems.

I don’t think her fans are remotely able to be objective about her. You “guys” are too stuck in Taylor worship to think that she isn’t solely responsible for her success. Most of us don't have kids with the talent and skills to go far. Having pushy parents is what it takes to make it to the top. Ask the Williams sisters, Tiger Woods, Bieber, all gymnasts, the Hughes brothers, etc etc. Do you hate that this is what it takes or just the people who do it?

Tiger and the sports kids you mentioned didn’t have a web site and his parents didn’t encourage false friendships and airing of his personal life in order to further their career. There is a HUGE difference there. Excelling in something is one thing, using your kids personal life and name as fodder for fame is another. It is different.

First thanks for not including insults in your post, that is rare. I appreciate it. Second most of pop music is a business now, it is like everything else big business has taken over. There are many articles written about the down fall of independent music. Most normal parents, even though they are supporting their kid on American Idol, aren’t arranging secret parties for their teenager to generate interest, or creating a web page about their 12 year old daughter to support her music career. Even beyond that, most parents aren’t buying up their child’s albums or have the savvy to negotiate business contracts for their child or claiming that they are their child’s therapist.

Most of us don't have kids with the talent and skills to go far. Having pushy parents is what it takes to make it to the top. Ask the Williams sisters, Tiger Woods, Bieber, all gymnasts, the Hughes brothers, etc etc. Do you hate that this is what it takes or just the people who do it?

Tiger and the sports kids you mentioned didn’t have a web site and his parents didn’t encourage false friendships and airing of his personal life in order to further their career. There is a HUGE difference there. Excelling in something is one thing, using your kids personal life and name as fodder for fame is another. It is different.

Tiger predates websites. But that's how kids are getting recruited and discovered now, it has evolved. Don't kid yourself. This is the entertainment version of tiger parenting.

First thanks for not including insults in your post, that is rare. I appreciate it. Second most of pop music is a business now, it is like everything else big business has taken over. There are many articles written about the down fall of independent music.
