It is definitely over the top gaudy for a regular person -- if anyone you knew had that ring, you would be incapable of talking to them without staring at it. But it's perfectly fine for celebs of this level and it's tasteful. It's more like the Hollywood engagement rings of yore and not some tacky reality TV bling-bling ring, which I appreciate.
