It is crazy. You can’t even find standings. |
not really. VHSL site usually eventually has regions. But some like the Patriot and National Districts have their district tournaments going on simultaneously with play-in rounds of the region tournament. For example Patriot final is tonight (Robo vs Woodson) and National final is Friday (Justice vs Falls Church), but quarterfinal losers started playing regional games last night as it is an all-in region with some more tonight. Top 4 teams in each district have byes and start regional play next week. |
lol, someone has jokes today. Robinson would lose to the 4 Concorde regional teams. |
The VHSL wikipedia page is about the closest it comes to mapping it all out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_High_School_League It lists all of the Districts with links to their wikipedia pages, which detail history and information about the district and the past and current member schools. |
I think you are mistaken. |
Battlefield would be 50/50 just to qualify for Regionals if in the Concorde district. Battlefield is a great team but just shows how loaded the Concorde district is with Centreville finishing in 4th place and they are extremely good. |
Name these 4 teams. Oakton would be the only challenge for Robinson. |
We went to the Westfield centreville game last night and it was a very strange game. Centreville jumped out to an early lead, seemed to get bored and Westfield came back within 1 and then Centreville just stepped on the gas and stretched it out again. Some highs for Westfield as 4 (I think) players put up goals and their D did a respectable job of locking down centreville’s attack but that left their midfield to just score almost at will.
Westfield looked banged up and just not fully ready for what seemed like an almost fully healthy centreville. A little anti climatic game, we were expecting a pay per view quality boxing match. Strange factoid I was told by one of the Westfield parents: almost all the girls on both team come from the same tiny rec program and many of the girls on both teams had played together for years. Pretty cool if true. |
Not disagreeing with this… they would have a tougher fight but I would see them coming right behind Oakton. Just my opinion |
Robinson can compete with and beat any of the Concorde teams. Most likely finish 2nd place -- better than Madison at this point. |
Agreed. That’s why I said that person was mistaken |
Good point. Battlefield played a great off-season schedule too so 50/50 is probably off. Actually really impressed with Battlefield this year seeing them play at Centreville tournament. |
Ha. I was just backing you up! |

Without the Cincy commit Robinson is in trouble vs any Concorde team. They are not as strong on the draw and that is the strength of the 4 Concorde teams. |
Oakton, Madison, South Lakes and Centreville would all beat Robinson. Robinson is without their best player and the Concorde teams are back to full strength and healthy. Madison already beat Robinson and Centreville was without 4 starters in a 3 goal game. |
