MLS Next players can't dual roster and play ECNL. It's not allowed according the MLS Next regulations. MLS Next players cannot play on another team during the MLS Next season. Look at p.15 in the regulations. SYC will stay MLS Next and VA Union will be able to pull B Team SYC players and McLean A team players that want to play ECNL. So there isn't going to be any dual rostering between SYC MLS Next and the VA Union team unless they want to lose the MLS Next status. Looks like SYC and McLean should have looked a little closer at the MLS Next rules before creating this alliance.

You did not read the section about "Future Players". Players can play on ECNL and be MLS Next "Future Players".

Currently the "Future Players"/ Part-time players already play at Manassas Club. SYC MLS Next is their part-time gig.

Considering SYC has just started tryouts I find your trolling disingenuous at best. Plenty of girls trying out at ID for VA Union/Mclean ECNL. Folks, it KIDS soccer, not parents-living-vicariously soccer. Go try out, plenty of teams to choose from. Your kid will get a spot where they fit best. No matter how amazing you think they are. Let them enjoy their game and stop putting the pressure on them to carry out your own dreams. All the clubs can be enjoyable if you let them. Most kids can walk onto to a Division III team. I know a kid that walked on and got a spot on Division I. Relax.

Most offers should be going out this week. Will be interesting to see how many SYC B Team players make the move to ECNL. I don't expect many especially if they have to pay more $.

Aren't the teams supposed to provide roster and do checks before the games are played in MLS Next? Something doesn't sound right.

There is just a few...They are making already good teams even better, that's all.

SYC 08s were ok last year, certainly not a top team in the area, but they are a dominant mls next team this year. I don’t believe it’s just a few 08s on loan from Manassas and I don’t believe the players just improved so much in one year. Either there are still more new players or other guest player ringers or the guest players, uh, may not need their parents to drive them to the games. I am just kidding on the last point. I am sure all the kids are u13s. But there are probably a lot of players showing up who were not SYC last year. Which is obviously fine. But not internal development.

07s and 08s both got a few players from good ol' LMVSC last year. Probably not internal development, correct, but that's common starting U13 and up. Just look at McLean, Arlington and Loudoun.
