#1- the cost of ECNL and MYS Next is the same (see SYC website, both listed as 2500); so cost is no longer a factor here
#2--The alliance allows the top SYC players to be discovery players on ECNL (but not the other way around due to the ECNL rules) #3- They can practice together--nothing is stopping that since they technically now 'share' field space AND coaches so presumably they all show up to the same field with the same coaches and 'presto' combined practice #4- the uniforms and combined colors suck |
#1 -- Still a factor, just Add all the extra costs for ECNL travel. #2 -- Some players might be ok, but top (11) SYC MLS Next players (Full-time players) cannot play in other leagues due to MLS Next rules. #3 -- They will practice together, bye Quality vs. Quantity #4 -- Uniforms color suck |
| Has anyone from outside the club been offered a spot for the ECNL or MLSNext teams after the Tuesday ID sessions last Tuesday and last night? Just trying to gauge where my kid stands, as we have other options. |
| It sure would be great to get some notice by the club of where things stand! |
You should reach out to the coach in charge of the ID sessions to get an answer. |

Pretty sure all the mls invites for the younger boys have gone out 3 days ago. |
| For 07 or 08 age group? |
Awful. |
Whatever hater. Miami Hurricanes look sharp in those colors. |

| Go with the pumpkin patch color scheme |
| Virginia Union seems to me to be total fraud on the boys side. SYC kids were used as window dressing at tryouts to elevate the level of play and hook others in but they won’t be on the ECNL team. Would be surprised if this alliance makes it through the summer. You have to wonder if it was ever intended to be permanent or if was a pure marketing ploy from the beginning. What’s the point of joint practices when the MLS team and coach all live 10 miles from the ECNL team and coach? What am I missing? |

Especially with big gold chains around their necks. Imagine if we had big time, in da hood football and b-ball culture for soccer here. We’d likely rule the soccer world. |
