I would want to keep the AAP one though - I think part of why it was broken out was that non AAP families kept excessively posting on threads just to slam the program vs it being a forum to ask other AAP parents about thins.

So a new FCPS forum but keep AAP separate?

I’d be fine with that. While I don’t feel strongly about separating out FCPS either way, it seems to keep coming up so separating it at least avoids discussing it every X months LOL.

Then it's a win for everyone.

NO. PLEASE keep the AAP forum separate. The people on there are CRAZY and we don't need them crowding the regular FCPS threads. It's annoying enough with moms who come in saying "my AAP child did this and that and whatever other bullshit". Some people live in the AAP forum and should stay there.

I routinely see overtly racist and sexist garbage on these threads, and yet see threads that don’t fit a teachers union narrative taken down. I am sure you can only pull down what is reported, but you are basically an echo chamber for parent bashing.

Are you KIDDING ME? I'm a parent and the VA schools forum is 90% TEACHER bashing, not parent bashing. You live in some weird alternate reality.

I have three kids who went through AAP and my recollection is it was broken out because from December to April or May, AAP dominated and other topics were lost in the sea of, should we get WISC, should we get a copy of the file, what scores got in in previous years, the GBRS is biased, teachers' opinions should have the most weight, teachers rate minority kids lower so shouldn't have a say, my kid is really gifted and most AAP kids are holding him back....That and all the TJ posts made it impossible for parents of kids in Gen Ed classes to have a space to get information that related to their kids.

I would support splitting Fairfax from the other school systems.

So would you support breaking out FCPS as a separate forum if the FCPS posts are drowning out other topics? For the same reasons why AAP was broken out?

I vote to separate out FCPS from VA schools.

Not in FCPS but think it shouldn’t move to a separate forum
