SPLIT FCPC FROM VA PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

That seems reasonable to me given the amount of FCPS-related traffic that tends to drown out other school systems. But, I wanted to get feedback from forum users. So, what do you all think?

I completely agree. We are fcps, and there is really so much that is fcps specific.

No. We are in APS. Whatever happens in FCPS is relevant to us as well.

I agree. APS, ACPS, LCPS, PWCPS, FCCPS and any others could be part of the Virginia schools forum, but FCPS is larger than any other school district in the area (including MCPS) and should have its own forum.

Another yes vote here. I hate having to share this forum with poor people that have to live outside of the Beltway.

Yes, please split FCPS off. It is really annoying to comb through to find other school districts and many of the FCPS posters do not include it in the header. They are gigantic and need their own forum.

Also, because FCPS is so big, I think it would be a more accurate representation if posters providing feedback on this poll would share if they are seeking FCPS information or not, otherwise the sheer size of FCPS will skew the results.

Why not just do a poll to get an actual number?

FCPS will be getting a bit smaller at some point, and then presumably McLean Public Schools would live in the VA Public Schools forum along with APS, ACPS, LCPS, PWCPS, FCCPS?

That’s cool. McLean can come back and join us, but let’s kick the rest of FCPS trash out!

Yes, the FCPS threads drown out other school systems. And it’s too hard to dig through threads because many people don’t label threads or even posts.

Please separate.

Yes! Please! You can give them their AAP Forum back and merge the two!

That’s a great idea. Doesn’t look like AAP is used much anymore.

Please do not crowd out the AAP forum. It is less active this weird year because so much is not being offered. There are not many online spaces for the things that come up there which is why even people not in FCPS will post there.

If we didn’t have FCPS ruining this forum for the rest of us, maybe there would be room for non-FCPS posters to post about non-FCPS gifted schooling-related topics here.

There were a lot of questions today about supplementing education at home and other special programs (honors track, academy) so maybe it’d be a good fit now.
