New video shows he was not resisting arrest. The murderous cop lied. Why do you believe a murderer over a black guy? |

I don’t hate you either and I will do everything in my power to fight for you. —-white woman |
Also his politeness and respect toward the officers: "Officer, please..." It's sickening, shameful, and heartbreaking. |
omg, I just can't. That officer and his enablers better rot in jail! |
It's all well and good for you all to say this from behind your computer screens, but please actually take it out into the world. Confront your biases, and make others confront theirs. Don't sit quietly when your older relatives say and do racist sh!t. Use your power to say and do the things that can't safely do! Believe us when we tell you something is racist. Don't question our experiences. Don't require black victims to be perfect people for them to matter. Don't try to silence conversations about race that make you uncomfortable. Understand that when you get tired of hearing about it and talking about, that it's 10x as exhausting LIVING IT. |
I'm saying that I can look at the video and see with my own eyes that what that cop did was indefensible. I do not know WHY he did it. I know nothing of his personal or work history. For all you know, he may have done this before. In fact, my guess is that this was not his first time. If the person he did it to before happened to be white, would you still think that this incident was due to racism or would you think that this cop has a major anger problem when suspects question his authority? I totally believe in holding this guy accountable for what he did. But I have yet to see the evidence that this was done for racist motives. If you can point out something that he says or does that is overtly racist please feel free to do so. |

Blindly ignoring historical context and refusing to accept any racism that isn't accompanied by white hoods and overt declarations is part of the systemic racism that allows this to continue. |
| I work in a law firm that deals primarily with police and fire matters. Two of our attorneys are also police officers. Another is a retired cop and racist. I've heard them defend cops who were clearly in the wrong. We were talking about this at lunch and every single one of them said this was murder and completely indefensible. |
| What is the earliest that we may hear about charges/arrests? |
Wow. I can't even with people like you. My heart goes out to this man and his family. |
Actually, racism, itself, involves painting people with a broad brush based on stereotypes. So, whether this particular officer is actually a racist or not, YOU ARE. |
Racism is far more complicated than that. Educate yourself. |
It's not enough this police officer killed this man, you have to turn his death into a reason to call all white police officers racists. That's the thing that gets me. People can kill people for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with race. IF it turns out this particular cop's crime was, in fact, motivated by his own racist views that is one thing. So far, that has not been proven one way or the other. I'm sure that the truth will come out, though. |
