Everyone runs a trade deficit with your local grocery store. But that doesn't mean your grocery store is ripping you off. China buys a lot of US treasuries with the trade surplus. With the reduced trade activities, it will add pressure to the interest rate.

No it's much less. Socialism is the government's ownership of means of production. The Green New Deal will require such government ownership to implement because private sector will never self destruct in such a spectacular manner. Farm subsidies is a social program, but the abundance of social programs does not suddenly make a country socialist. Remember socialism is government ownership of means of production, it's different from social programs.
