Jussie Smollett

He could have just paid the police back and made it all go away. reminds of martha stewart or Lori Laughlin. Crminal celebs who thought they could get away with it.

Because he has BPD, NPD, or ASD, I believe he will triple down and cry tears that the country made him do it - he was in pain and it was a cry for help and change, he just felt so unheard, blah blah. He will turn the tables.

I believe he will double down and say that he was merely acting out a poetic or universal truth, but we are too white supremacist to appreciate his art or his message.

No. He will never admit the truth. Never. He is too much of a narcissist to admit that he planned it and got caught.
He will continue to claim his innocence. And accuse others of being racist/homophobic when in reality, he is exactly what he accuses others of being.

Contemplate for a moment how profoundly stupid this man is. The story was farcical and one would need to be an imbecile to have believed it. Which is why Kamala and her band of morons lapped it up. Fools, all of them.

He needs help desperately and his family encouraged this lie. It have a feeling he funds the whole family and of course that is never a good thing. I really hope he does not go to jail. He should work to pay back resources and go to some sort of rehabilitation.

I agree that I think he needs some mental health help and not jail. If judges keep letting rapists stay out of jail because it will ‘ruin their lives’ then I don’t think Jussie going to jail is justice.

That being said, I don’t think he is bankrolling his whole family. He has several successful siblings.

Yeah, Jurnee Smolett from Friday Night Lights, Lovecraft County, Birds of Prey, etc is way more successful than him…

I didn’t know he had family in show business. I didn’t know her name but I remember her from Friday night lights.

I feel badly for him. He will go to jail for something so lame. Kyle Rittenhaus on the other hand, has no jail time. What a travesty of justice.

Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty. Why would he get jail time for that?

What an idiotic comment.

Jussie Smollett chose to perpetrate a hoax, vilify millions of Americans, cause the Chicago police to devote thousands of man hours to this hoax, and continues to lie about it. This is only lame in that he thought he could get away with it.

Rittenhouse committed the horrible sin of.......................self defense. And, was acquitted of any wrong doing.

Both juries decided these cases properly.

+1 people are so stupid. And this imbecile won’t get any jail time as a first time offender.

Anonymous wrote:Honestly I feel sorry for him. Something is just not right. I think it is horrible that he wasted police resources and was also willing to trash those brothers but something is just not right with him. He needs help and not jail. Shame i. his family for allowing this to go on and on. They clearly know he has some mental issues.

He clearly has a personality disorder, i.e., Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Antisocial Personality Disorder. He took issue with something about security at his show or letters, and he was gonna teach those producers or whoever a lesson.

That's not a treatable mood disorder (i.e., depression, anxiety). Give me a break. We should not turn this around like he was a poor depressed man victim. The victims were the police department and the public, especially people who felt personal horror and pain believing his story. Where is their apology? He isn't even sorry. No, he is digging his heels in.

That's actually incorrect -- well, it's correct that it's not a mood disorder, but it's incorrect that personality disorders aren't treatable. DBT was developed to treat personality disorders.
I think it's even more effective with anxiety, OCD or mood disorders as well--but it can significantly help a lo of people with personality disorders if they acknowledge they have a problem and need treatment (which some do). It does seem like a personality disorder to me, maybe borderline, as they can sometimes react in really outsized and irrational ways when they feel that their needs haven't been met. DBT is all about giving people the skills to deal with things in a more productive way.

You are splitting hairs - isn't it true therapy has a very low success rate for a personality disorder? Like single digits? It's a personality for goodness sake anyway. Good luck changing a bad personality.

DBT has something like a 70%+ effective rate of treating DBT if they stay in the program for a year. Traditional Talk therapy has a very low success rate (and can even make them worse). One real problem with BPD is most people won’t admit they have it, so the fact that DBT is now being used for many other conditions is great because you can maybe get someone in the program even if they won’t admit they have it. Sorry to be off topic but I didn’t want the misinformation out there, in case other readers are dealing with it.

I love Jurnee Smollett. My favorite was Eve's Bayou (she was a child) and she also did a Tyler Perry movie that I really love. Oh and of course True Blood, Lovecraft Country and numerous others. She's consistently worked since she was a child.

Yes, Jurnee is awesome and I believe she got her start on Full house. The whole family had a tv show at one time. Jurnee deserves her on thread.
