It can’t be normalized; he can’t be compared to other DH’s who don’t handle the stress of caring for kids solo. He murdered his own children with his bare hands and dumped their bodies. He’s a psychopath and a monster.

Shanann’s friend completely messed up his whole plan by alerting the police mere hours after she was killed. His first story was that she told him she was taking the kids and going to stay with a friend. Why would he have reported her missing to the police for at least a few days if that was the case? He thought he had a ton of time.

I’m guessing he planned to go back to get Shananns body that night. Remember her plane was delayed so he ended up having way less time to get rid of the bodies under the cover of night. He also thought he would have time to dispose of the sheets, get rid of her personal items, etc. All he had to do was keep calling her phone. Maybe he would call her parents in a week or so pretending to be the outraged father whose terrible wife was keeping his kids from him.

If not for the friend, he might have gotten away with it. No way would those kids have been discovered in the oil tank. Who knows what he was planning to do with Shanann’s body- maybe another tank somewhere else? Maybe he had more of the story planned- he got home and actually saw her and the kids leaving with someone, maybe he would drive the phone and purse miles away and throw them in some river or something. He also had no idea that the neighbors camera could see his house.

I really hope he did not scratch those kids necks with Shanann’s nails after she was dead. I really think he had a different story originally planned so he didn’t think to do that.

He was having an affair with a coworker and resented child care, a pregnant wife, and family life. Somehow his brain hatched a plan to escape by murdering them. Perhaps he floated around divorce but knew he’d be paying child support for 3 kids and wanted to use his money for his new honey.

He might have snapped but I think he planned it to coincide with her return. He moronically thought he could just say she left with the kids and never came back. Stupid people and/or people who are only thinking of themselves tell themselves lies to make their stupid plans seem so-able.

He probably thought they’d never find his family. Or he could place their bodies there and remove them to a better burial site after awhile.

He’s a dumbass. Some psychopaths plan and commit such crimes better and ge away with it, or almost do. Not this loser. He didn’t even watch forensic files and consider his plot critically.

I am confused. They said the kids were in the oil well for several days but the mother was missing for 12 hours tops. Seems that they were killed several days before the mother. That story doesn't add up. She snapped and killed the kids before going on her business trip and he only got upset about it and snapped after she returned?

They didn't find the bodies until Thursday. They know the bodies were put in the oil tanks sometime between August 12-13. Unless a witness or camera footage or some corroborating evidence turns up, they likely won't be able to rule out that the wife couldn't have killed the girls.

But.

There is so far no motive whatsoever for the wife to have killed her two children, and there is lots of circumstantial evidence (and there will likely be character witness at trial) that she was a loving, devoted mother to them.

It was he who was having an affair - huge red flag for criminal behavior. It was he who lied to the cops repeatedly. And it was he who tried to hide evidence of at least one murder that he later confessed to (his wife; two murders there if you count the unborn baby). Also, the prosecution could argue how rehearsed his interview was, how he lied so easily to reporters and the police. They will get him on all the murders I have no doubt.

She is dead, you asshole. She is the victim, not him. He's trying to throw his guilt into question by blaming her for the kids' deaths. He could very easily have called 911 if she was harming their kids, but that's not what happened.
