What I find most objectionable (in addition to the continued assault on truth) is Rudy Giuliani calling federal law enforcement officers "StormTroopers". Disgusting and especially irresponsible coming from a person who was the US Attorney for the SDNY

He also said he would punch Comey in the nose...

When will you guys learn that after you keep claiming to have found a "smoking gun" which fizzles out, it is difficult to take the latest revelation seriously or a game changer. If one gave credence to all of your past claims, Trump would have been impeached and removed from office last summer. Remember all the crap about Trump being in a state of dementia and needing to be removed using the 25th Amendment and how about those multiple psychologists who signed a letter saying that Trump was mentally unbalanced?

When wishful thinking takes over from realistic and objective assessment of the facts, it makes it difficult to take some of these conclusions seriously.

I am not a Trump supporter but about the only thing about this latest revelation is that Trump probably lied when he said he did not know about Cohen paying Daniels .......... but Trump lies constantly and it has not affected his support among Republicans - which is all that matters.

It does matter for Mueller and the states who can bring charges. Trump's followers are hopeless, but have faith in Mueller.

What charges? Trump slept with a porn star and then used his attorney to pay her off to keep quiet and Trump then reimbursed the attorney for the amount that was paid?

NP - possible bank fraud, possible Federal election/campaign violation(s), to name a couple.

When candidates use their personal funds for campaign purposes, they are making contributions to their campaigns. Unlike other contributions, these candidate contributions are not subject to any limits. They must, however, be reported.

Is it a "campaign purpose" to pay off a woman to keep quiet about her affair?

1. initially, the money was supposedly paid by Cohen then reimbursed by the campaign
2. now Trump is saying it wasn't reimbursed from the campaign but from his own personal bank account?

Mueller is probably following the money. Even if Trump paid the campaign back, it's still illegal.

Isn't this what brought John Edwards down? Using campaign money to buy off his mistress? Ironic that it was the National Enquirer that brought out this story, and Trump thought they should've won the pulitzer for it, and that the owner of the paper is Trump's friend, oh and he also paid off a former mistress of Trump's.

There's a word for this.... KARMA... it's a b1tch.

George Conway seems to think Trump has a campaign finance issue. Hahahaha,

Yep, bank fraud by Cohen possibly if he falsified the reason for the HELOC which we don't know. Campaign contribution violation? His attorney paid for the NDA and Trump reimbursed him. It was not from the campaign coffers.

It potentially is if the reason the woman was paid to keep quiet was to win an election and mislead the electorate?

When the defendant's lawyer's says “Imagine if that came out of October 15, 2016, in the middle of the last debate with Hillary Clinton? Cohen made it go away. He did his job.” what do you think?

Rudy’s biggest falsehood is the suggestion that Cohen was empowered to handle routine matters such as this because Trump is a busy person.

And you are basing that on....what, exactly? What Donald Trump said? What Cohen said? What Guiliani said? Those people (among others) have lied about this at every.single.point. They have ZERO credibility, at the very least.

Some of their statements also suggest the money was done in payments. Was that to conceal it/keep it unreported?

Consider the timing. An agreement was made to pay her off right before the election, but, sure Jan, it wasn't related to the campaign/election at all.

If she was paid off so her story would not affect Trump's presidential campaign, then yes, that is a "campaign purpose." The fact that she was paid off days before the election and not years before at the time of the affair, when Trump was not running for president, means that the campaign had something to do with the payment.

In the context and timing with the election, it is certainly a matter for the FEC and FEC filing. See Edwards, john.

Lesson learned- a great way to make a quick buck is to threaten to come forward with a made-up affair with Trump! He’s so concerned about protecting Melania that he will pay you, no questions asked.
