Rudy's now saying that Trump wasn't aware at the time of Cohen paying Stormy, but he paid him back?? Do I have that right?

Here's the latest in the WSJ:

Speaking to the Journal on Wednesday, Mr. Giuliani said: “He paid him back. No campaign finance violations, no crime of any kind. Michael had discretion to solve these.”

Asked whether the fact that Mr. Trump had repaid his lawyer conflicted with the president’s previous statements that he was unaware of the payment, Mr. Giuliani said it was “not [an] issue.”

“Cohen was his lawyer and had discretion to settle, as I have had for clients ultimately paying for it,” Mr. Giuliani said.

He said Mr. Trump was “probably not aware” of the payment at the time it was made. “Remember October 2016, hardly will recall any of that in detail. I don’t remember it clearly either,” he said.

Either way, the campaign would have been required to file an in-kind contribution report. Don’t see how Rudy adding confusion with a new story directly contradicting both Trump AND Cohen (remember his song and dance about doing this because he’d take a bullet for “Boss”) is beneficial from a legal standpoint.

probably too big for that but broken up enough that you couldn’t match the transactions easily. If you saw $130k go out and then a month later $130k comes in, it would be hard not to draw the conclusion. Of course knowing trump, it accidentally came from the campaign.
