I remember when that picture from 2014 circulated. It was appalling and so obviously something meant to prop up some seriously messed up parents. |
The adopted male children would have benefited from a strong male father in the household. |
That actually makes sense. One of the hallmarks of RAD is inappropriate affection toward strangers while inability to form lasting attachment to family/parents. Also, if that was 2013, he should have been about 10, right? He looks half that age. That, plus the bizarre outfit, makes me think he was not a typical kid. Usually, though, parents dealing with RAD would be working with their child to model appropriate displays of affection, not encouraging him to walk around--and crash the stage of a concert--hugging strangers, especially for such a long, tight, one-sided embrace. The performer was being nice in allowing it, but he was clearly no longer hugging back. Imagine how often that happened with people who didn't want a hug at all. |
Ugh these poor kids. I can’t take stories about abuse of kids. Makes me heartsick. |
I agree. I don't think this young boy in the video nor the 2014 photo did this on his own accord at all. If it wasn't the parents pushing the boy to do this, they should have never allowed it. It was the parents who bought that onesie with the tail and allowed it to be worn in public with no shoes or socks. The parents are responsible for this along with the haircut. I don't think the boy realized this is inappropriate and there are predators out there. Everyone in that crowd got a huge laugh out of the boy and didn't see what we saw. There was even a woman behind the boy touching him in the crowd. |

More and more allegations of abuse surfacing (2008, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017).
These poor kids. The withholding of food had been happening since shortly after their adoption. Their whole lives were filled with abuse. Physical beatings as well. http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2018/04/hart_children_immediately_pull.html |
Why is it important to mention they're lesbians?
Crazy doesn't discriminate. |
It would be weird to omit it. |
Numerous studies show that boys need a male figure to raise them. The inappropriate behavior from the boys displayed in the media can be explained by the lack of proper parenting. |
No one said anything about lesbians. |
Shut the hell up with this bs. Please cite your “numerous” studies or leave. |
Sounds to me like a relative of one of the moms or friends of the family trying to justify the horrible abuse that these children endured. |
It’s true. You can be a lesbian couple raising boys, but you should be finding some decent , trusted male figures for the boys. Ditto for adopting kids of different races - it’s also your responsibility as the adoptive parent to help the child find some community aligned with the child’s race. |
