I hope someone will post an update about the meeting after it happens; or that MCPS will post something on the web site. I'm sure I am not alone in not being able to attend.

No, quoted email from this morning:
"MCPS decides whether meetings will be recorded -- they own the recording equipment and set the criteria for when meetings will be recorded/streamed and when not. We asked for recording, and Ms. Webb put in a request, but whether it will be granted will depend in part on whether MCPS has already committed its budget for recording engineer overtime. There isn't a mechanism for outside organizations to pay for it (even if we had the budget) so we are at MCPS's mercy.

regards,
Michelle

NP here. Haven't heard anything, either email or letter. I emailed the Ms to ask when I might hear, since we do not have access to an online registration system,

I'm bummed that they've scheduled this meeting during the info/orientation meetings for several of the CES programs tonight. Hopefully we'll be able to hear how it went and there will be some power points or other such info posted online. Some of us have kids accepted in CES and are interested in what MCPS is doing at the MS level.

is the advanced math geared to kids already in compacted math or not in compacted math already? or will both types of students be placed in it? the course name is confusing me.

I have not yet received a letter but I already know that my child is registered for the two classes--check their registration on my mcps to make sure. It should already be updated if they are in one or both classes. I would like to get the letter just to close the loop (and will email if I don't see if by the end of the week) but what is most important is what their registration says.

It should be primarily for kids that finished compacted math and are starting IM in 6th grade. I imagine the top scoring kids will be in the new Applied IM course and the other kids that successfully completed compacted 5/6 will be in IM.
