Didn't know there were TJ graduates working for janitors

TJ parent: UVA.
Base parent: Oh, that's where my kid is going!
TJ parent: My kid is majoring in CS or engineering or similar major and is in top 10%. What about your kid?
Base parent: She is majoring in math and physics. Really proud of both of them!

I can't resist piling on

Yall realize UVA doesn't even have a CS department and the engineering and math and science departments are barely top 50. So much for a supposed STEM school lol

Meh. The people that should be most embarrassed by the thread are the inane posters on both sides.

Base parent: Studying education or communication and minoring in Sociology. I think s/he is in the bottom 50%. We are really working the "connections" to get him/her a job after graduation.

Wait a minute, so you think studying education is a bad thing? Would you make fun of that major, to say, all of your child’s teachers, who helped him develop into the person who eventually got into TJ? Or to your child’s TJ teachers? TJ parents really are a piece of work!

But wait, wasn’t GMU also supposed to have a great CS department according to an earlier TJ poster? Lol.

Most teachers at TJ have Ph.D., J.D., Masters in subject areas such as math, physics, English, history etc.

GMU and NOVA are preferred by base school kids not TJ grads.

Hirs too close to home, doesn't it?

We have 4 kids in our street who went to UVA. They did not go to tj.

UVA is a safety for TJ kids. TJ kids attend UVA only for the cheap tuition.

I wonder if they went to TJ too.

And here we go again. This is like Groundhog Day. You really haven’t gotten any of what we’ve been saying. For top base school kids, UVA is also a safety. You don’t need TJ!
