Off-campus parties served Milwaukee's Best (AKA Milwaukee's Worst AKA The Beast) in kegs.

Worst was buying a BOTTLE of Boone's Farm and having that be my drink for the night...right out of the bottle. Classy!

Weird that I remember more beverages than food in the 80's/90s. Or not, given that the hardest thing I drink now is very strong coffee!


More 70s, but carried over into the 80s...ever have Russian Tea? Your mom likely made it and gave it out at Christmas. This is a homemade instant tea mix with Tang ('anyone?), cinnamon, sugar...basically hot sugar water.

Oh yeah, the Beast, Boones Farm. Sometimes I'd buy some gross schnapps for the night. Olympia beer was crazy cheap, but tasted awful. The Beast was pretty good comparatively. Zima was a trend for a while too

My husband lives ramen. He only uses a bit of the packet though. Our 4yo son likes it too. The other day he was asking for ramen, but I wanted him to have some protein or some other nutrient too, and I said "Ok, you can have ramen and a hot dog for lunch." I couldn't believe I said that! Then I said "I've failed you, son." I'm so laid back about food, but had to laugh at myself.

Ramen - love Ramen. I subsisted on that in college in the 90s with broccoli thrown in.

Hated that Lipton instant noodle stuff but my sister loved it.

Can't believe no one has mention yet - peanut butter and fluff!

My mom was a hippy and was an early patron of whole foods (in the Boston area where I am from the chain they bought was called bread and circus) so we missed out on much of this delicious sounding stuff . I use to go over to friends houses to get my fix of peanut butter and fluff and ate ice cream sandwiches every day at lunch (and stopped for hostess cupcakes on way home) in high school. I take a much more moderate approach with my kids bc eating ultra healthy at home had me eating total crap as soon as I could (although I did snap back to healthy in my 30s)
