Try PinX first. It's over the counter and you only need one dose. |
No pinworms do get into the vagina. This is very common with childern. You can look it up. |
PP, you have me roaring with laughter |
I tried reading this whole thread, but it is making me ill. Can someone summarize it? Do you need to do anything about "intestinal worms" if you have no symptoms (like my family). What about if your butt itches like crazy (like me). Thanks ![]() |
Ascariasis:
Two things to keep in mind: Latin Americans are carriers and we are bringing illegals in in record numbers They don't always flush toilet paper and an increasing number of businesses are putting trash cans in restrooms. (Whole Foods in Vienna, I'm looking at you! ). Do the math.... |
Wrong round worms have have been with us a long time. They took sewage samples back in the 1970's to determine the level of infection in the U.S. population. Yes there were round worm in the general population. Now these immigrants were really dirty, but you know they were white and that does not fit your world view.

I guess there was modern facilities back in 1450s England. Good to know! Note the sewage issues. Who do you think has a more modern sewage system - the US or the parts of Latin America where these illegal immigrants are coming from? Hint: they don't flush toilet paper. Sewage system can't handle it. So it doesn't matter how long they've been here. What matters is whether or not we are importing people with infestation and poor bathroom sanitation habits. |
My neighbor's kid had pinworms, and she gave them to my DD. We saw them in her poop, little thread-like white things, wiggling in the water. She took pinworm meds for a few days, and all were gone. It wasn't a big deal, at least in my DD's case. I wouldn't have known she had them, except she looked at her poop and called me in to look at it. When I told the neighbor, she told me her DD had them too. Geeze, I wish she'd told me sooner, before DD played with her DD at her not terribly clean house! But pinworms are spread easily, according to our MD, by incompletely washed hands, for example. Gross, but not terribly harmful. |
Our doctor told the entire family to take meds, wash the sheets, vacuum, and that was the end of it. It's possible we're all infested with pinworms, but not many of them. I've never seen any white threads in my poop since then, and it was at least 10 years ago when DD got pinworms. The doc said it was no big deal, very common in young kids, just take the pills, everybody, and it's done. |
If she's scratching her anal area a lot, you need to treat them asap. Why would you delay? The medicine is OTC. |
OP please share the names of the other medications you are taking. |
So Cultrelle is just a probiotic. Do you have to take any of these pin-x type things as well? |
Ok, PP, fantastically itchy butt fellow sufferer here... I stopped using wipes on advice from another thread (gotta love DCUM) I stopped using wipes altogether. Just plain TP or on occasion TP dampened with water. Relief! I must have an allergic reaction to the wipes. This has been going on for years! So glad I figured it out. Give it a try. |
I had worms as a kid in a 3rd would country. I'm fine |
I am never eating again. |
