Hee! I am southern and one of our name choices for a girl was a double name... but my husband wisely told me that wouldn't play up here. I knew he was right so we just went with the one name.

This is a very Catholic thing to do. Mary Katherine, Mary Claire, Mary Elizabeth.... very Catholic. |

| I'm from Virginia...the double Mary names are definitely done here, except I've heard it more with Mary and then a male (family) name. I've known a Mary Blake, Mary Stuart, and Mary Charles and they all went by both names. |

why are these the worst names? because they are very popular? I happen to like all of them and even named DD one of them. are you one of those parents that has a permanent scowl on your face because that's how I'm picturing you right now...... |
