5'4 and 128 pounds. Size 4 in jeans and size 2 or 4 in dress pants. Shirts are usually always a size small. |
Not into posting weight and height, but here is my experience with stores and brands..
-J crew: Tops: Large, sometimes XL if I don't want it fitted Bottoms: 14, but the waist often ends up loose -LLBean: Medium or Large GAP: Tops: Medium -Talbots Tops: Medium or Large Jones New York: Size 12 Ann Klein 12 or 14 Banana Republic-fugetabout it... In my slender days I wore an 8, now I'm too much of a pear |
Chico's has the most absurd sizing. This 5'9'' 140 pound woman wears a size 0.
Agree the sizing is here to stay. |
144, 5'6". In pants and dresses: 8 at BR. 6 at Loft and Ann Taylor. 8 at Express. Size small at Talbots usually, sometimes xs, but sometimes a size 6 or 8 in their sized clothing depending on who knows what.
In tops, almost always a small at any store. I think measurements are more important than pounds. My butt is kind of big and I have a bit of a belly. |
Are people really this bitchy? |
I'm 165 and 5'10''
My bust is 40, waist is 31 at the smallest part and 41 hip. I wear a size 46-48 Benetton. 13/14 in juniors. 31-32 in European jeans. I cant wear a button up shirt unless its heavily altered. I wear mostly things with spandex because if I hide my waist I look like I'm 15 lbs heavier. |
Size 12. 5'6", 166 pounds. |
Vanity sizing - totally yes. I have been the exact same size (5'0" and 90#) for nearly the past 30 years. In high school (1985) I wore juniors size 5. By college I was buying size 3; when I started working, size 1 or 0, now I'm in my 40s and I can't even fit into a 00P. I have stayed the same size (and, maybe not proud to admit, but I still have some of those old high school clothes; they still fit) - super size inflation. Children's sizes have stayed the same, though - I have pretty much been able to fit children's size 12 for the past 15+ years (I didn't shop in the children's dept in the 80s and 90s - didn't need to, since juniors/womens sizes still fit me). |

155, 5'5" size 12 ![]() |
160, 5'3. Large hips, small waist, big bust. Tops are a M or L depending on the style or store. But my pant sizes are...
Gap: Size 10 H&M: Size 10 J.Crew: Size 12 Banana Republic: Size 12 It's amazing to me how sizes run so differently on different people and shapes. Others have mentioned that H&M runs small, and J.Crew runs large - I find the opposite to be true. |
5'4, 122 pounds. Size 4 or 6. |
Anymous |
5'6" 138 lbs and usually a size 8, though sometimes smaller in dresses and tops.
I carry weight in my hips, so the size that fits me there is usually too big in the waist. Lots of money on tailoring. |
5'5", 148lbs, 34B - I have pants from 20 years ago that still fit fine. I wear a small or even XS in tops, a medium (size 8) in pants and shorts. Dresses depends on fit but usually in the 4-6 or small range. Really it depend on the garment in question, even within the same brand sizes are so weird. |
