I wish they would do away with sizes and use inches like they do for men.
But the “be skinny” idea is so entrenched that maybe companies think women don’t want to think about inches so they use these random sizes. |
Does anyone find jean sizes, which are in inches, to be vanity sized? I am 5’6” & 128 lb and usually buy 27, which I think is equivalent to a sz 4. I just bought a pair of Frame jeans in 26 — last pair on rack — and they fit but have room to spare. They must run big because I do not wear sz 2. |
Thank you! |
Yes, I was wondering if Frame vanity sizes too. I'm 5"4 and normally a size 10 or 32 in jeans from places like Mother. But in Frame I'm a size 30, go figure. Possibly it depends on whether the jeans fabric has stretch, but I think it's also vanity sizing. |
I just went back to the start of the thread and realized I should clarify my weight. I'm 137 lbs at the moment. I don't understand how 5"5" and 150lbs can fit into a 10, but then again I've had two kids and I also don't like super-tight jeans. |
5'0", 142lbs
35-28-38 I usually wear a small or a 6. |
It’s more than just your height and weight; it’s how it’s all distributed. I’m 5’8” 160 lb and a solid 8/29. |
I'm 5'8" and 148-150 and an 8/29. |
5'7 120-123, size 2-4, small. Jeans 27. |
5'6, 120, size 2 in most brands (sometimes 0 or 4, size 27 in most brands (sometimes 26). |
Size 32 jeans is not a 10, I am sorry. I am 5’8” and 205 lbs. I wear size 32 jeans and am a solid 14 in numbered sizes or L/XL. |
Agree! Definitely an 14. I am a 14/32 and the 5’3 260 poster. Madewell and Everlane are two of my favorite brands. I buy rigid denim. Now I do know of plus size influencers who wear regularly a size 20 and fit Lululemon size 10 leggings. Some brands are funny like that. |
If you are 5 5 you should not exceed 135 pounds |
5'7" and 135 pounds, usually a 6. |
Weight looks better on some people. Oprah at 135lbs would look awful. |
