It was all passed.

Huge win for WJ.

How is that a win for WJ??? im in this cluster. My 8th grader was accepted into Blair. My younger kid will not have such an opportunity. I was very against this.

Want your kid to go to Blair? Simple, move.

I cam say the same - move if you want to be at a W school.

They just created super borders that will limit students choices. I think Inwill be alright being in WJ region as Wheaton will rise even more. Blair? Who is going to apply and be accepted there?

The only W school I'd want to be at is Wheaton. I don't want to be at a W school, I just want my kids to have the same opportunities as yours do.

Unanimous vote in favor of virtual learning plan despite serious questions and concerns about food distribution.

Interesting that none of the Save Wootton people stuck around for the after-action report about the shooting that happened in their building.

This can still work if they reconsider which schools get which regional programs.

Anonymous wrote:Churchill is only high school in the crown study that ends up over capacity (112%). Not sure how that’s a win for Churchill. A win for the outlying wayside and Potomac families who live closer to crown but didn’t want to move, but not for the rest of Churchill.

They will be correcting this with the ES boundary study, which will allow moves for secondary due to capacity, among other things. Only those on the borders will be holding their breath.

And a segment of the in-bounds Churchill population will end up going to Crown's STEM magnet (in lieu of Blair) and RM's IB magnet, while considerably fewer from outside are likely to be heading to Churchill's magnets.

None of that is reflected in the 112% projection, which is among the reasons they will be juuusst fiiiiinnne.

PP I love your optimism, but I kinda think we’ve already seen the best they have to offer. Now, maybe if they let communities actually gave input, we could see improvements.

The ES boundary study is going to be a sh*tshow. Buckle up for that one as they made it pretty clear they will close down and consolidate schools.

You're surprised some parents may not be in the mood for a presentation about an event that was almost certainly traumatizing for them after spending all that time listening to the BOE members name-calling them? I think the Save Wootton movement is a little nutty and probably has racist elements but damn have a little empathy for people whose kids were in a school during a shooting. I would not want to listen to Taylor ramble on about what a great job he did.

They provide food the day before or have central pick up points like they did before.

Blair magnet is over. The director of the program has already left. Keep your rising 9th grader at your home school.
