How are your Aug-Dec kids doing re:offers?

Anonymous
Nobody is misinforming anyone when all they're asking for is the details.

I'd be much more worried about the guy telling you to not post details.

Who do you think has an agenda vs who is trying to get ti the truth?

This thread is toast.

Another one bites the dust.

Do, do, do

Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust.

Have a great day everyone!

This is smart move.

These threads are hijacked by one individual marketing his false agenda to ignore the 12 month age window and play youth soccer in grades, like school. His goal is to get the Aug births out of his kid's age group to help his kid.

He isn't trying to help, he is trying to misinform while offering no proof.

Everyone, talk to your current and old coaches for advice and don't trust opinions labeled here as facts. Each kid's case is different.

If you and your kid want to play grade, great. But nobody should be shamed into not playing on grade if they don't want to and they don't have to.

Best of luck.

You can do whatever you want but this thread got crazy when the question

"Do all the players on your team have the same graduating year? was asked.

Why is that such a bad question to ask?

Has any parent received an explanation from their club on how they determined whether they were going to keep their kid playing up an age group or play with their new age group? I'm asking about kids on top team going from one top team to another. I know several from our club in different age groups and no one has been approached by the club They only know they are going to be on the top team of one of the 2 age groups. It appears the goal of our club is to get as many kids from outside the club and then make a decision on our kids after they have all the new kids sorted out.

That makes no sense. its a valid question. Trying to convince people to not respond is Sus.

Unfortunately discussing grades here is just being used to feed a troll and not for useful discussion.

We received the determination but no real explanation. They will likely wait to try to secure outside Q4s before letting you know.

More like someone is trying their best to convince people that grade doesnt apply to club soccer when everyone with a brain knows that it does.

If grades applied to club soccer, we wouldn't be having this stupid argument

There is no argument if U12 or U16 applies to club soccer
There is no argument if age and DOB applies to club soccer.

Because that's really

There are no 8th Grade brackets or teams. It's someone's dream

We don't have to worry about Godwin's Law on this board, BUT boy, we do have some Crazy-Grade Law.

And it stinks for discussion.

Good morning and good luck, all!

Congrats! I think this is what most Aug/Sept parents expected would happen for their kid, but from this thread, it seems that isn't the case.

The top team at clubs will be made up of August - December kids. Whether that is from moving kids from former B teams or kids from outside the club. We all know that the oldest kids in a 12 month range are on the top teams. For the former top players on a team, born January - March, get used to reduced minutes, keeping the bench warm or being placed on a lower team.

Your club must have a lot of Q4s. There aren’t enough at mine to have such a big effect. Just changes around the edges. Not wholesale change.
Not even many Q4s on second teams? These is where a bunch are for my kids club.

I'd go further than this and say at my kid's club the top players on the second team are very disproportionately Q4, while first teams average 1-3 out of 16-18 Q4 kids currently (according to ECNL grad years posted, I think we're one of the worst around with systemic Q4 underrepresentation). If clubs only move first team players to first teams, there's going to be a lot of resentment next year as older players fully realize that they are better than younger kids but didn't get a fair look. Any club which accepts that relative age matters, if others don't, has a chance to steal good players. By the second half of next year, some teams very accustomed to winning might find they are struggling without the bigger/faster kids who left their club. Obviously the magnitude of this depends a lot on age group. I'm anticipating GA teams stealing a lot of quality RL Q4s.

Ok call it Graduating Year which is on every ECNL player profile. You know because grade in school doesnt exist and Graduating Year is completely different from Grade in school.

The hypocrisy is thick around here.

The only thing thick is the Crazy Grade Law.
