How are your Aug-Dec kids doing re:offers?

If your kid was Aug-Dec ecnl or rl, how did your club treat them?

DC was given a choice to go down or stay. They are young but in the older grade. They chose to stay up.

There has been no communication with those of us in this position. It's been a total nightmare.

They are filling ecnl teams now and rl will be next. No communication yet likely means your DC isn’t being evaluated for a top team.

We have been going to both sets of tryouts and ID sessions and no one can give us an answer which team we are on. We are in pre high school age groups so in the long run if they stayed up they would have to switch after next year anyway. The issue i have is no one seems to know what is going to happen. It seems to be based on how many kids they can sweep up from other clubs and not based on ability.

Yes unfortunately most clubs do rolling offers and may wait to see if current ecnl players from outside the club accept an offer first.

most later bdays on my child's team got the choice.

Where we live tryouts aren't until after Memorial Day.

We want to change clubs for our youngest and she's been invited to kick around with some ECNL teams at other clubs but because she's RL (our club doesn't have ECNL on the girls side) she has to have permission from our club to do that before May and we can't even get anyone to return her calls. We're probably going to have to demand release of her player card.

Wow, after May! That seems super practical/ normal. -What state is this?

Also, I think she is ok just to go to their practices without acquiring her player card. Also, your Team Manager can get a copy of her player card. But yes, if you decide to switch before the season is over, you may need to force a player card switch.

You guys are lucky. The spring season has been completely ruined for u14 and under in VA.

If everyone would just not be weird and focus on the rest of the season, it would be fine. but alas we are weird.

Nice Snarky comment but that isn't the case. Most of us are talking about being on NL team a year up or NL team with their age group. I think the clubs have been completely overwhelmed with all the August-Dec kids trying out for u13/u14.

Based on the way practices have been run this winter at our ECNL club (which teams/players practice where), I am definitely sensing that high-demand clubs are going to try to get more kids in the door rather than stress over proper placement this year. Presumably in year two they will adjust for proper team placement.
