| Good for the coaches. Any one of them would make a better superintendent than Reid. She is simply an abomination. |
You really have a chip on your shoulder. I suggest therapy. Hayfield cheated. FCPS looked the other way until the media forced them to address it simply because black students and staff were involved. They didn’t want racial discrimination accusations. If white kids and staff were the cheaters, it would have been stopped quickly. |
| Yep. The person that keeps saying Madison and Westfield cheat is unable to understand that it is possible to be a good football program and operate within the rules. I don’t believe Madison or Westfield start any players that played for another HS. |
| This isn't really about football anymore. The questions that this report should answer is...1) Was there a cover up and if yes who was involved, and 2) Where staff retaliated against for raising concerns and it so who was responsible. If either 1 or 2 is true then there needs to be accountability. |

Report please.

Hope folks are still contacting their SB reps re: publishing this report. Rather than "moving on", I wish those folks would go back and read coverage of this story as reminder: FCPS explicitly and loudly cleared Hayfield of any wrongdoing, VHSL then had to step in with multi-page report outlining Hayfield transgressions and banned them from playoffs. FCPS then spent time/money/effort to take VHSL to circuit court to try to slap down VHSL itself to keep Hayfield in playoffs, only to then be forced to withdraw them when AD texts leaked... After all the lengths (esp. to double down to try to circumvent VHSL), the only real way to restore credibility and trust is to release the report. |
+1. If you're reading this threat, keep the pressure on your School Board rep. |
| The report must make a lot of FCPS people look bad/stupid. |
| 100%. Reid has told the coaches the lawyers won't allow her to release the report. |
] HAHAHA. "The lawyers" meaning the private outside counsel FCPS hires is advising Reid not to release the report written by the OTHER outside lawyers. |
| Someone needs to FOIA the report. It will take time and probably be costly, but the information needs to come out about what information the school leaders used to "clear" Hayfield in August and what information was used to remove them from the playoffs in November. From the outside it looks like FCPS chose to ignore issues in August and got caught in November and was forced to act. |
Cafferky --who is telling Reid not to release--probably violated multiple ethical rules and that was probably highlighted in the report from the OTHER lawyers. |
| FCPS always does this - promises and independent external investigation, uses external counsel to investigate and prepare the report and then claim attorney client privilege to withhold it from the public. It’s infuriating. |
Would a FOIA request even cover this? I'm sure there are enough angry coaches/parents etc that could crowdsource the funds to cover the costs if someone was to take the initiative to file the request. I'd donate. |
Yes, that's why it's important - on such a public and reported topic - to hold them accountable. They're counting on short attention spans. At some point, those in leadership somewhere need to held accountable for their conduct and their decisions. Particularly to try to haul VHSL itself(!) into court to avoid admitting their own mistakes. Public funds paid for that report - FOIA should also apply. |
