Can older men really attract younger women?

Yes, OP. Yes.

I'm a woman, and I'm living in Asia for my job. I have also done several posts in Eastern Europe. In both places, every 30+ single Western expat male has quickly begun dating young (20-25 year old) local women who are very eager to date/marry what they regard as much wealthier men who can offer a path to a better lifestyle. I currently have an American colleague who is in his late 40s who left his wife and teen daughters over the summer while they were home seeing family, then returned to begin dating very young women and is now living with a gorgeous, accomplished, university educated 24 year old. This is by no means unusual: over the past years, I've seen so many Western marriages break up because the middle aged husband suddenly finds himself in an environment where he is highly desirable and pursued by many very young, gorgeous women.

So yes, I have observed that young women, including educated, gorgeous young women, will absolutely date/marry an older, even much older, man if he has money. And I've seen that in an environment where the younger women are viable options, the middle aged men are never choosing same-age women when they have the option of early 20s girls.

So you keep repeating that 20s women are attracted by money and cushy lifestyle . What’s new in there ?
But it’s not a general population case, as average age gap at second marriage is 3 years

You don't get it. The "average age gap at second marriage" is what is "average" in the US/a population where the majority of men settle for what they can get. The truth is that the majority of those "average" men remarrying a woman within 3 years of their age would 100% be choosing an early 20s girl IF THAT WERE AN OPTION, which it isn't for them. But when you take a pool of these same types of men and move them to a setting in which it IS very much an option to choose a much younger, gorgeous woman, this is what they all do. They don't settle for the middle aged woman, they go for super young and gorgeous. The woman within 3 years of their age is not their ideal, it is what they settle for.

What’s the point of your argument ? I want a $5m house but settled for a $2m; men might want Sydney Sweeney but marry regular women etc. It doesn’t mean they are not attracted to their wives or won’t sleep with them. Women would also choose young Sean Connery over husbands
