Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban split

Anonymous
Well, it certainly seems a lot of posters on this thread are bashing Nicole for being absent but she’s getting the kids 309 days and he’s getting them like 50?

Sure seems like he is OK with seeing his kids a lot less. Also it sounds like she didn’t want the divorce and he found another woman. But yet again, let’s blame Nicole for working too much. Women truly can’t win. I’ll be so curious to see the age of this new woman. And if she’s younger, it’s probably because Nicole allowed herself to get old.

They clearly had a pre-nup, so needed to work out custody. The fact that he has such a minor custody piece makes me suspicious, and wondering if maybe his substance abuse issues haven't resurfaced. Seems strange he would agree to that when to date he's been the parent who's spent far more time at home.

I agree it's weird. Teenage girls can be very tough. Maybe he's had a tough time with them lately, they wanted more time with their mom, and he agreed to that. Still think it's weird though, especially when he has clearly been the more present parent for a while.

It's in the name of stability. The girls are 17 and 14, in high school - not a great age or situation to be shuttling around house to house. It also forces NK to base herself in Nashville (probably a point of contention between the couple) and she's already committed to bring projects to Nashville, alongside Reese Witherspoon. Nashville is a small town, and even on tour, he's based in Nashville. It's Nicole who will be spending more time at home than ever before in her career.

I can see him being okay with it if she's serious about doing projects in Nashville. I am sure he will still them in the midst. Its something she should've thought about beforehand but you cant change the hands of time.

Something is definitely weird here. Also is it normal for the rich to prepay their child support obligations? Very odd to give up most custody.

It sounds like he is dropping off the face of the earth for a period of time - incurable illness? going on a pilgrimage? moving to a deserted island? had a major mental breakdown?

I'd be surprised if the fact that teenage girls are involved isn't relevant. They need their mother in these crucial years. They probably also wanted to stay in the home they grew up in while they finish high school. He's the one who moved out. But it's not like Nicole won't be working. She has three projects to promote next year, and more slated for filming, including BLL. She may not be as busy as she's been for the last decade or so, but she won't exactly be a SAHM. Not that she needs to be!

The kids stay with Nicole for 306 days and Keith 55 days while she remains the primary residential parent. Sorry tbis doesn't sound like an abrupt thing from her side. It sounds more she holding on and gave him one final chance before filing

Wow - what kind of dad agrees to 55 days a year?

A dad who prefers banging his young girlfriend.

Egads, his hair.

His hair has been terrible for years. Maybe if he's having a late mid life crisis he'll get a haircut.

I have never seen one scintilla of appeal in his looks. Nicole used to be beautiful but is so plastic now annd can barely watch her. Although I cannot wait for the release of Practical Magic 2 next year with Sandra Bullock.

Does sound like a mid-life crisis. Also maybe a spouse who wants to enjoy the freedom his wife has had for many years. Yeah maybe that does include a new GF. A young musician currently on tour with him? Katie Ohh?

I thinks it’s more like teenage daughters wanting nothing to do with a father who cheats and he’s just building in time for them to see his side of the family.

He'll probably take over the days shes out of state and busy too. They arent little kids and most likely don't want to be around him and his new fling like that. I bet he didn't want to fight Nicole about it too. He's over it and wants to focus on the future

Forcing teenagers to live in their dad's new place would be a little weird. Totally makes sense for them to stay in their home, which is gorgeous btw.

All signs point to midlife crisis affair and return of substance abuse. Very strange custody arrangement.

You know, I do agree that the over-the-top displays of affection are a bit much, but I really feel for these high profile women. I think it’s very hard for most husbands to accept the fact that their wives are very famous. I remember Gwen Stefani always used to make a big deal talking about how hot she was for Gavin. And what did he do… eventually the stereotype of sleeping with the nanny. A decision that he clearly regrets since he’s clear in recent interview anout how he regrets fumbling Gwen.

I think some of it over the top displays were just to reassure Keith. I don’t know, I’ve never been much of a Nicole Kidman fan, but everything I’m reading about this really makes me sympathize with her.

19 yrs is a lifetime in Hollywood .

Maybe they stuck it out long enough until the kids were flown & grown.

They have a 14 year old daughter! How is that flown and grown? She barely just started high school.
