One of the primary purposes of a FAMILY VACATION is to create memories of the family doing the things together. Bringing a nanny to do the mother's job is creating a NANNY VACATION the children will remember having fun with the nanny while their mother vanished only to see them ten minutes a day. |
What did you decide OP? |
Tell us, what is the mother's job, as opposed to the father's job? |
There are valid reasons to bring a nanny - multiple children; parent is a single parent; one parent is unable to care of children (cancer, chronic illness, whatever); one parent has to work; etc. Barring those types of circumstances, sure it is weird to bring a nanny on your vacation. But some of these posters are accusing OP of not raising her children / questioning why she even had kids just because she has a nanny tagging along. I'm assuming these posters work full time and employ nannies, given the subject of this board. It's pretty rich for a full time working parent to accuse OP of not raising her own children... like if you work 50 weeks/year and rely on childcare, those 14 days you spend with your kid on vacation don't exactly make you parent of the year... |
Which OP apparently cannot, or chooses not to, take care of her own children. |
OP's reason is pure laziness. Stop having accessory children. |
