These inane threads show up in recent topics.

If you don’t want people to talk about your stinky BBQ sandwich then eat it at home.

I don’t mind. Just curious why those vegans care so much about my BBQ sandwich 😊

Because we are just all here hanging out and you keep pulling out your stinky sandwiches. We wouldn’t care about them at all if you just ate them at home.

But we are hanging out at the BBQ.. (hint, read the name of the message board)

No, we aren’t at a BBQ. That’s why the big smelly sandwich is so out of place.

The message board is called DCUM. Most people read from Recent Topics.

And what forces them to click on a topic from this forum?

Sometimes the smelly sandwiches are too offensive to just ignore. They pollute the whole room.

Also, many of us are tired of you shoving your smelly sandwiches down our throats on IRL.

If you don’t people commenting on them, eat them at home. And keep them out of our government.

OP, are you saying that it is okay if your religion influences law, public policies and the way things are done in this country, both subtly and not-so-subtly, but atheists shouldn't participate in casual discussion on a public forum that covers all and any religions?

I suggest an end to your criticism. This is the religion forum, not the religious forum, only for people wanting to share info on churches. It's for anyone who wants to express their views about religion.

People can express all kinds of different views here, as you just did.

This is stupid trolling designed to keep legit discussion out and possibly get thread locked.

Pathetic.

Agree. Reddit has more interesting discussions and real debates, not just bunch of trolls trying to derail conversations. Maybe DCUM admin should remove religion from “recent posts” to avoid triggering those who don’t have much to say on the topic but feel the need to come in and troll.

People can express all kinds of views and yet you suggest I end my criticism(which is my view). You just contradicted yourself.

DP - if you don't see the value difference between expressing your opinion on the topic of the forum and expressing your opinion that views that differ from yours should not be expressed in the said forum then you are hopeless or purposefully obtuse.

Not all religions require a belief in a deity or supernatural power.

Let me spell it out for you, but just one time. I expressed my opinion about people posting, without suggesting they stop (re-read my post). You, however, suggested “I end my criticism” aka stop posting my opinion, because “People can express all kinds of different views” (which is basically what I did). By doing that, you contradicted yourself.

Are you sure it’s me, who is hopeless or purposely obtuse?

I get that believers are "fact averse", but here are a few for you:
- DCUM is a parenting discussion forum
- most people read via Recent Topics
- most people do NOT read the religion forum directly
- religious people in the US are forcing their beliefs on everyone else
- religious people in the US are trying to oppress women and LGBTQ people
- many people don't like that
- people tired of being oppressing by religious people voice their opinion on religious threads popping up in recent topics

I'm sure if enough of you pleaded with Jeff to remove religion forum posts from recent topics he might consider it. But we all know that you won't do that and you will continue to incessantly whine when other people post on your inane threads.

So much whining. Pathetic.

Great idea. DCUM doesn't want your stupid threads.

No, but when you see more posts from people who are non believers it makes it strange.
If you don’t like religion just don’t hung around.

If you want more posts from believers, you can start them, and end the strangeness.
