Yes, totally worth it! On a serious note, you need to actually read a newspaper article about the sale of the nursing home. Absolutely no one was “kicked to the curb.” |
And you’re really in denial. I’ll let the internet give you the answers you seek: https://letmegooglethat.com/ |
It doesn’t really matter why Sidwell is famous. It just is. The fact remains that no other DC school is more famous. OP, that’s your answer. |

LOL no, the Vegas sports books have the Knicks at 20-to-1 odds of winning it all. Josh Hart is a perfectly serviceable player who hasn't exceeded a VORP of 2 in any season so far despite a first-round draft pedigree.
Sidwell effectively "wiped the slate clean" because only his academic performance moving forward affected whether he got to stay. His past grades didn't matter anymore. |
My reference to winning pertains to the series against the Pacers. Are there any other DC private school alums in the NBA playoffs this year who have made it this far? His past grades did matter because he had to improve his grades once he returned to Sidwell. What else would you expect Sidwell to do? They didn’t remove his past bad grades from his transcript. You’re using the wrong terms. The slate wasn’t wiped clean. His grades remained as they were on his transcript. However, he had to do much better academically or he was out for good. |
But they still let him back in, which should've never happened in the first place if Sidwell actually took academic performance seriously. As mentioned upthread, Luka Garza is with the Timberwolves, who are still in the playoffs. |
Wrong. Sidwell takes academic performance very seriously, but the school isn’t heartless. They gave Josh Hart a second chance, and the grace that Sidwell displayed was worth it. Look at how well Josh Hart has done. Good for Sidwell, and even better for Josh Hart. Btw, the Timberwolves are down 3 in this series. Luka and his teammates aren’t coming back from that deficit. They’re done! |
| Giving him a second chance that no other student would get isn't taking academic performance very seriously. |

Ask the kids.
STA boys love the school, come back for alumni events, send their kids there. Sidwell kids CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE ! |
Thanks for the advice to use Google. I typed in NUMBER 1 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL WASHINGTON DC. Google sent back . . . BASIS!!!!! I hit that link and Sidwell is indeed #2! I thought, well, this must be a mistake! So I searched for rankings for the previous year, as maybe someone might remember the Obama children and all that glory! Alas, Google led me to the earlier ranking. When GDS was number one. Again, Sidwell was #2. So, yes. Google told me the tale of Sidwell. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. |
STA and GDS kids literally cry at the thought of leaving, while NCS and Sidwell kids can't wait for the grind to end. |

Lol—Sidwell alumni can’t wait to leave, yet they return to campus by the hundreds every year for reunion, and meetup across the country for alumni events. They hate it so much, but over 30 alumni return to campus every year for the “Let Your Life Speak” day to share their personal and professional experiences with MS and US students. https://www.sidwell.edu/alumni/volunteer/let-your-life-speak Some of you hate Sidwell so much that you make up easily refutable lies. That’s how you know Sidwell’s the best. |
I see that you don’t understand, or you simply don’t have the range for this conversation. Either way, I’m done discussing this point with you. |
