LOL no, the Vegas sports books have the Knicks at 20-to-1 odds of winning it all. Josh Hart is a perfectly serviceable player who hasn't exceeded a VORP of 2 in any season so far despite a first-round draft pedigree. Sidwell effectively "wiped the slate clean" because only his academic performance moving forward affected whether he got to stay. His past grades didn't matter anymore.
My reference to winning pertains to the series against the Pacers. Are there any other DC private school alums in the NBA playoffs this year who have made it this far? His past grades did matter because he had to improve his grades once he returned to Sidwell. What else would you expect Sidwell to do? They didn’t remove his past bad grades from his transcript. You’re using the wrong terms. The slate wasn’t wiped clean. His grades remained as they were on his transcript. However, he had to do much better academically or he was out for good.
But they still let him back in, which should've never happened in the first place if Sidwell actually took academic performance seriously. As mentioned upthread, Luka Garza is with the Timberwolves, who are still in the playoffs.
