Bullis and Georgetown Prep have players currently in the NFL. There's a player on the Chicago Cubs who went to Georgetown Prep and Duke. The Arizona Diamondbacks have a pitcher who went to STA and Princeton.

Kristian Fletcher went to Landon and was a trialist with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund before signing with DC United as a 17 year old.

You would have us think that Josh Hart and Saddiq Bey are special snowflakes?

None of the schools listed above, except perhaps STA, is Sidwell’s academic peer. You don’t have to worry much about your grades if you’re an athlete at Bullis, Gonzaga, Prep, etc. Sidwell expelled Josh Hart due to poor grades. The Sidwell community protested for months before he was allowed to return, and he was tutored by teachers, parents and other community members until graduation.

US soccer (especially men’s soccer) is not qualified to be a part of this conversation. You can’t even name the Bullis and Prep players. Nameless, faceless players on teams with 60+ players each. While Katie Ledecky is certainly a “decorated” swimmer, I missed the name of her professional sports team…because that’s what this conversation is about.

Actually, this conversation was about most famous DC private. It's still not Sidwell.

I know that’s your fervent dream. However, logic, reason and commonsense say otherwise.

To make matters worse (for you), it’s also the oldest and most prestigious independent school in DC.

It's no STA.

You’re right, it’s much better.

Sidwell Friends School (founded in 1883), consistently ranked the #1 private school in DC.

St. Albans School (founded in 1909), consistently ranked somewhere behind Sidwell.

Ranked number one where?

You're really childish.

And you’re really in denial.

I’ll let the internet give you the answers you seek: https://letmegooglethat.com/

Thanks for the advice to use Google. I typed in NUMBER 1 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL WASHINGTON DC. Google sent back . . . BASIS!!!!! I hit that link and Sidwell is indeed #2!

I thought, well, this must be a mistake! So I searched for rankings for the previous year, as maybe someone might remember the Obama children and all that glory! Alas, Google led me to the earlier ranking. When GDS was number one. Again, Sidwell was #2.

So, yes. Google told me the tale of Sidwell. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

You sound slow and geographically challenged.

1. No one, not even BIM, thinks that school ranks ahead of Sidwell on any academic or social measure, and
2. BIM is not located in DC.

Keep googling, Sidwell has ranked ahead of all other private schools for years on Niche. It’s so newsworthy when that doesn’t happen, that GDS wrote about it’s temporary status in its school newspaper. It’s so expected at Sidwell, that when Niche ranks them #1, no one mentions it.

Btw, where does STA rank on that list (both years)? Is it behind Sidwell, as I originally said?

Oh, is Georgetown Prep an independent school that’s located in Washington, DC?

Dematha is like Oak Hill or IMG Academies—it’s a sports factory. Academics are a distant second. Dematha should actually have way more than a total of 22 former NBA players. It’s hardly a school.

For hoops Sidwell recruits just as much as DeMatha. IMG also has 22 NBA players btw.

Saddiq Bey seemed to do fine at Sidwell despite having no education at DeMatha his freshman year. (He transferred Sophmore year)

Sidwell absolutely does NOT recruit “just as much as Dematha” for basketball, or any sport. “Bold-faced lies!

Saddiq Bey’s mother has a Ph.D. Don’t give Dematha credit for his academic foundation. He owes that to his mother.

Dematha comes in at #3 on this list (Oak Hill is #1). I stand by what I said. Dematha is a sports factory. It’s not a serious academic institution.

Was cinder block available in 1883? If not, what on earth would Sidwell have used for its buildings?

Poor dear. I guess this means a lot to you. Yes, if you cut out most of the DMV, you can get rid of #1, and Sidwell can climb out of its usual #2 spot. Couldn't do that with the prior year when GDS was #1, but can do it this year.

But maybe we can just always say sidwell is the #1 independent school south of Nebraska Avenue and north of Macomb street. It's famous there too! Mostly famous for screwing up traffic on Wisconsin Avenue, but famous nonetheless!
