grammys 2024

Really bad look for the Grammy's to have academy voters on record saying they didn't vote for Beyoncé because she "wins too much" only to have Taylor win twice including her 4th AotY award, more than any other artist.

Their own fault for saying something so dumb. If you don't want to honor someone, fine. Say you thought others were better this year or that you've preferred the artists prior work. Telling a journalist about a beloved black female artist, "oh she just wins so often" and then voting for Taylor Swift for the 400th time? Idiocy.

+1. She is very chaotic at times… Awkward when not rehearsed.

I am bias because i like Taylor a lot but she comes off as neruotypical. She has a lot of friends but the way she interacts with them isn't like other women her age.

I must have missed this. How?

I thought so too. She barely acknowledged her.

My 13 yo said she thought it was fine fwiw.

Isn’t Celine sick? Maybe she was being accommodating to her disorder. Can Celine even respond back?

Celine has stiff person syndrome or something. She is in her senses and was waiting to be acknowledged and Taylor does not respect a woman who has been in the music industry for ages. Her time will come too when the younger ones diss her. Karma is a b****

They are all worth billions. Do they need to be worshiped as well? And Celine has never had the reputation for being disrespectful?

Celine has always had a reputation as a diva but like most in that category (Aretha, Mariah, Whitney, etc.) she's also gracious and polite when being celebrated. I can't imagine any of those women running up on stage for their 13th Grammy award like a small child being offered a free ice cream cone, careening around and then grabbing the award from a living legend's hands without acknowledging her. If you want to be at that level, learn to have *presence.* Taylor has none. She is very immature.

Taylor sings to 13yo girls and dates a football player. It’s not exactly a beltway cocktail hill resume. But people either throw money away at her music or lavish her in attention as anti-swifters. Ignore her if it bothers you.

What a lovely night! Is there a reason beyonce has never been nominated for award of the year?

I think we are inching towards Taylor being overexposed again.

I can't even imagine Miley Cryus doing that to Celine and we have all seen how wild she is.

Miley went out of her way to honor Mariah Carey, who presented her with the award for Best Pop Solo Performance (for Flowers). She made a joke about them having the same initials and said it would have been sad to miss getting the award (due to traffic) but not as bad as missing Mariah.

Also, Miley is actually pretty big on honoring the people who came before her, musically. She's spoken many times on who much she listened to Dolly Parton as a kid and how influential Dolly was on her career. I think maybe being raised by a musician might make her a bit more aware of the importance and value in recognizing the people who paved the way.

So, yeah, Miley Cyrus was more together and mature than Taylor tonight.

I am guessing you meant neurodivergent or not neurotypical? That's an interesting thought. It goes unchecked in women a lot because of masking. I watched her doc with my dd and did pick up on her awkwardness especially during serious conversations.

+1 and Miley’s story about the butterfly net was clearly a nod to Mariah who released her breakthrough album/metaphor Butterfly after leaving Tommy Mottolla.

Thanks for the links. I watched a good show about Christine McGuinness (niche reality TV star) about her autism diagnosis and realized I had a very narrow view of autism and neurodiversity.
