I have. And it has nothing to do with skin color; everything to do with getting the educational needs of her own kids. Just like all you other parents who won't live anywhere near these schools. You just avoid it in a more "acceptable" manner. Virtual school didn't cut it - for a lot of us. She, like many others even in the "superior" schools up north, put her kid in private.

And she didn't put all of her kids in private, but she made sure to get them all out of Drew.

A PP asked if it was true and I responded. I’m not a fan of the option schools though. They do the same damage that vouchers do: brain drain from struggling neighborhood schools. There is zero reason for any of the option schools other than immersion (which I do support). Make all the schools like ATS if it’s in such hot demand. And the reason vast majority want the other option schools is to escape their crowded or poorly performing neighborhood school.

The parents I talk to IRL want MORE options for their kids, not fewer. At least in secondary. People seem more ok with their neighborhood elementary schools.
