DC Soccer Club

Not a current DCSC family but have to say that field availability and the condition of most fields in DC is pretty bad. It’s either deal with it or deal with a longer drive to the clubs in the burbs.

As someone who hasn’t been affiliated with DCSC for several years, but signed up for tryouts and got the solicitation from Brookland, it definitely felt like a data breach. The whole thing feels messy and we picked a different club.

Data breach indeed. The coach in the year below us at Liverpool in Rockville poached the whole team and is holding secret trainings with them when he was still supposed to be our coach too. There are three weeks left to the season/year and he is disappeared and only coaching those kids. It’s beyond strange.

Good lord.

Why is DCSC always such a mess?

Because daddy ball of elite kids with elite parents with eliteness.
Start cutting kids in the travel league or demoting, and maybe then your RL teams wont be -143 goals over the year

Is this a Liverpool issue or DCSC?

Real answer is that DC soccer has no governing federation or unification. Half the teams play EDP (plus futures, etc) with MSYSA, half play NCSL. I volunteer to chair the first DC youth soccer commission and act one will be unifying with one of the state alliances. Signs point to MD because they share the same high school season.

This is the solution.

ALL of the DC clubs think they are elite. ALL of the DC clubs compete with each other. ALL of the DC clubs fail to pay attention to the clubs around them such as Arlington, SYC, Alexandria, Achilles, Potomac and Bethesda and learn from what they are doing in order to retain the talent that keeps leaving.

Most certainly messy; DCSC’s lawsuit and TRO against BFC isn’t going to help that.

All those clubs mentioned have MLSNext or ECNL. Wasn’t DCSC going to get ECNL? Or something like that?

We've been pretty happy with the coaching on the girl's side, especially in older years (as they have fewer teams). The varsity soccer coach at Jackson Reed HS is coaching some HS-age girls travel teams; some of the other coaches are quite good.
