I don't know. I used to feel this way until I started really looking closely at these college admits. The only admits to top schools are either athletic recruits or boarders. This is really disappointing and I am seriously considering crossing this school off our list. I don't want to put my son in a situation where he is competing against rich foreign nationals and talented athletes for a spot in a top university.

Let’s be honest, Prep has many athletic recruits who would never be admitted to Princeton. Princeton also requires top grades. Alabama, Auburn, etc just require you to be able to throw and catch the ball.

Let’s be honest, Prep has many athletic recruits who would never be admitted to Princeton. Princeton also requires top grades. Alabama, Auburn, etc just require you to be able to throw and catch the ball.

Right, but know that if you have a kid who is just smart with no athletic talent, he will lose a spot to an athlete. There don't seem to be any spots for local boys with no hooks...and I am not even talking about ivies. Just top 20.

Why is Prep posting college decisions on the school official insta page? They could do what Holton does…the college decision insta is managed by the school but it’s separate from the school insta.

I feel that’s usually the case at most schools though , not just Prep.

Prep has good teams and offers a solid education. Isn't their athletic placement impressive? Athletic recruiting is subjective too, so Prep's coaches and admissions team are doing a great job identifying strong student athletes.

Sidwell and others now realize athletic recruits help with school visibility, spirit, and school college placement too. Plenty of elite private high schools heavily recruit athletes and then take pride in their elite college placement. It is a win-win for the schools and the students. Multiple kids are still going to Princeton and other great places. The non-data-driven assumption on DCUM is that having 1-2 athletes get accepted to a school means there is no hope for another elite student.

why don’t you just be more athletic or original everyone needs a hook it’s not that hard

The kid is more talented because he’s good at both. Your kid has to get good at sports

GP also have multiple sport recruits that’s aren’t going to Top 20s.
