I grew up in a conservative household.

Liberal men are much more aware of women's rights than conservative men, who really don't care much about women's rights.

Also, the highly educated tend to be liberal.

I disagree, I’m very liberal.

Conservative men fix things, take care of the lawn/yard, paint rooms, fix light fixtures, do the taxes, grill, take orders when there is a party, plan tail gates, do the dishes, take their plates to the sink, set up tvs, move furniture, coach kids sports teams, help with nighttime routine (anything family), etc.

Things are equal but fall on gender norm lines.

haha .. my liberal DH does all of it, and cooks, not just grill, bakes, fixes all kinds of things (neighbors all come to him for help fixing stuff), and he's an engineer. But, I do the taxes.

Conservative men aren't doing much childcare or cooking and baking. Please.

Tail gate? LOL That's super important housework. LOL

You missed the point!

Yes conservative men to care for children but just not in the way you agree.

And southerners tailgate Friday night/Saturday and Sunday.

Grilling is cooking

You aren’t talking about conservatives you are talking about jerks. There are plenty of liberal men who can’t cut a lawn or install a light fixture.

I didn't miss the point. Conservative men mostly have traditional gender roles, and doing housechorse and childcare is a traditionally female's role. If you mean they care for their children by working, guess what.. most women work and do housechores/childcare, too.

I didn't realize Conservative only meant "southerners". LOL. I think you mean "traditional southern" people, not "conservatives". But, I'm sure you know that there are conservatives in other parts of the country, right? LOL

No taking care of children is not "traditional female roles" after men get home from work. Actually it's the opposite. Conservative men are actually very involved in care of children after they get home from work, but yes, they work so they are not involved from 9-5 but neither are working women.

Conservative is not a Monolith nor is Liberal, you are joking if you think all liberal men are doing bedtime routine 50/50. I was giving and example.

Conservative men are coaching teams, boy scouts, church groups, football games, baseball games, etc.

51% of conservatives support LGBT rights/marriage.
40% support immigration support
50% support gun control

You really have been snowed by the Trump GOP and have forgotten there is a whole group of conservative that are not them.

These figures don't support what you seem to be trying to say.

Yes they do. You can’t just ignore 40+ % of people because of the other 60-% of the people.

His old are you people do you not know what conservative vs alt -right is?

Over on another thread Republicans are talking about how childhood vaccinations for measles ought to be optional and "up to the parents." That's the GOP. It's fine you're a "good" Republican, but they don't exist in real terms. Yours is the party of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert and fat-ass Trump. Just own it, or leave it.

Conservative here. Wrong. My mom was a doctor and my wife is a lawyer. I respect their work.

What do you think about Trump?

Weird, my super liberal crunchy granola vegan organic friends in the early 2000’s said the same thing. Alternate vax schedules too … liberals.

Your mythical version of liberals doesn’t exist.

You really have been snowed by the Trump GOP and have forgotten there is a whole group of conservative that are not them.

lol. I need a source for your %s.

The front runner for 2024 for the GOP is Trump. He has a much bigger lead than the next R. So yes, Trump GOP = GOP.

I seriously doubt that most conservative men are doing childcare duty, cooking, cleaning after work. I'm sure there are a few, but I doubt the vast majority of conservative men are what you are describing. Conservative men aren't supportive of women's rights. That's laughable. If your kid came out as gay, your conservative DH more than likely wouldn't support gay marriage. If your DD was raped, your conservative DH supports a party that wants to force your DD to have her rapist's baby.

If your DH doesn't believe in the above, then your DH should really leave the R party because the GOP has left your DH.

I'm actually a former R, and left a long time ago.

Or you don’t cut and run … you have the courage to try to make a difference.

He is hoping his vote will get rid of both Trump and DeSantis.

Who’s gonna get some normal republicans back into office, not you.

Google… pew research is your friend if you don’t know what conservative stand for. If you don’t know alt -right vs conservative your as bad as people who call liberals socialists.

The GOP is a lost cause. Conservatives support politicians who want to force your DD to have her rapist's babies. Even if your DH personally doesn't support that, he clearly doesn't think it's enough of an issue to leave the party. And if god forbid, should your DD ever get pregnant by a rapist, I bet you and your DH will be glad for Dems and the blue states that allow for abortion. He certainly won't be turning to his conservative party for help.

Also, your DH organizes tailgate parties, but does he organize PTA staff appreciation, birthday parties? I bet not because it doesn't involve alcohol.

The tailgate organizing is one of the most bizarre items of "my DH does house chores" examples I have ever seen. LOL. You have a low bar, and that's probably how your conservative DH likes it.

So you’re runner instead of a fighter. There’s a lot of shame in that.

Actually my kids school only has men run the PTA, it’s all boys.., mommies not needed, school parties, etc. yes school parties involve alcohol you should try it you seem like you need it.

It bizarre you think teacher gifts and birthday parties make you a good parent, you really need a higher bar for yourself.

We don’t believe in “birthday parties” invite 5 friends over, pizza and cake, no goodie bags. Neither of us believe in huge consumerism like birthdays, valentines, etc.

The bday parties and PTA stuff are things that most mothers do *for their kids*, whereas tailgating is really about the booze. So to conservatives, a school bday party must involve alcohol. Weird.

Upon re-reading your original post and kids bday parties with booze, I think you're a man. No woman thinks "taking their plate to the sink" = contributing to housework. LOL

I noticed you didn't respond about the part about your DD's right to control her own body.

I left the R party long before Trump. Trump and the MAGA just reminded me why it was a good thing I left that party.

My h is a rape investigator and has done more for women in a week than you will do your whole life.

He stayed during the tea party times also worried about the party but your MO is to find the easy way out and cut and run.

Your obsession with booze clearly shows you’re a child of alcoholic, my condolences.

Enjoy your consumerism, and judging people, not by the content of their character.

You’re a poser I’m not happy to have you in the Democratic Party.

Weird, my super liberal crunchy granola vegan organic friends in the early 2000’s said the same thing. Alternate vax schedules too … liberals.

Your mythical version of liberals doesn’t exist.

I don't have a mythical version of liberals, or the new-agey idiots you mention. But being "Republican" equals "Trump/MAGA." It didn't always and maybe someday it won't, but it does now and will for some time. Own it, or leave it. Also: DeSantis is a greasy pig.
