Which program is generally harder to get in to? Should I push him to even consider RM? Blair would be a much better commute and he’s set his sights in it because do have all his classmates but the IB program seems so more well rounded.

Blair STEM is a great program. My child went there.

Private school applicant here. Got in GE and humanities. Wait pool for SMCS. Also in at RMIB.

Congrats! What standardized test did you take and submit?

Thanks. We use the ERB Test our school administered.

Just got an acceptance from Kennedy IB. Kid is four for four now. Just waiting for Wheaton engineering.

My DS was rejected at RMIB and accepted at Kennedy IB. But he didn’t apply to Kennedy. What gives?

my all A (mostly 100%) and high map r map m student got rejected at RM and wait listed at poolesville ecology and humanities. It is so sad that friends of my child who are very much behind in grades and map scores got into RM and ecology andhumanities. Dont know what is the criteria they look, am not sure how will i convince my child, child came home and is so upset.

does SSL matter here, child has just 75 hours ssl

I wondered if the Kennedy letter was a mistake.

What are the good grades. My all a student with high map was waitlisted.

It sounds like CAP doesn't have a high regard for the Eastern program, going outside to private school students instead.

This is not my Eastern kid's experience. Just going by what the kids have told each other on the text chain, most of my child's peer group from Eastern got into CAP. On top of that, it looks like a lot were also accepted to RMIB. So, for the wait listed folks, it looks like spots are going to open it both schools because I have personally heard of about 7 kids accepted to both of those programs.

I think they are forcing kids into the regional IB programs to build up their results. They created the regional programs a few years ago and ever since then I've heard about kids that would usually end up at RMIB instead slotted for their regional test-in IB.

I don’t think so. Mine got in with only 35 hours. Maybe the essay was very important? Sorry your kid is upset.

You can still see the app on ParentVue. Take a look to make sure your kid didn’t apply to Kennedy. It’s just one box to check.

Yeah and my kid is going to turn down RMIB too (in at the Blair magnet and everywhere else)

My kid got in to both and won’t go to either.

does being in a swim team or doing a tennis program matter , my child is so upset and is crying as failure, map scores in 99% and all 99-100 upper A grades. child is so upset as kids who are as low as 237 in map r got into RM. Did they do more by sports this year?
Anonymous
kid is saying they based out of sports, since friends with less score got in or at least wait listed by doing a sport
