And, if Ford lied can she be prosecuted? Because I believe that is much more likely.

Ford clearly lied. I watched her testimony and she showed all signs of lying.

Are you a forensic psychiatrist? If so I’d love to hear more. If not then you are a fool for posting this.

Cute.

No, I'm not a "forensic psychiatrist" but someone trained in a much more relevant discipline.

Ford was clearly lying. She was making things up about her lie-detector test -- it was obvious.

I’m very interested in what that relevant discipline is and what signs you saw.

Won't share the discipline but here is something that was a red flag to me and colleagues.

At some point Ford said that she had taken a lie detector test the very same day her grandma (or mother?) had died. The interviewer then interrupted to doublecheck if that was the case, because you should never take such a test in such an emotional moment, it screws the baseline and the results.

Ford realized that her previous testimony made no sense and improvised something like "Uh I'm not sure, might have been a day before or after the funeral"

Which makes even less sense. Attending your grandma's funeral is one of those moments you remember vividly, and if you took a lie detector test in some office that same day you'd remember it. And if you say it was that day you don't just make things up and then say it might have been a day before or later.

My brother died when I was 28. I went to his funeral and I do know the month but have no idea of the actual date.

You probably also think that Anita Hill lied

It's not about the actual date. You would remember if you did something else major the same day.

Exactly. Especially if it happened less than a year ago and you had spent weeks training your testimony with multiple lawyers (all helpfully provided by the Democratic Party).

Ford was an obvious fraud.

Even with her trained testimony she came off as being unhinged. She was a hot mess and had a crazed look in her eyes. Definitely not a credible witness to everyone except hard core dems.

Yes BK did come across as unhinged. Dod you see all those faces he made? Way too emotional and overly dramatic. Clearly staged. He is such a liar.

I'm going to accuse you of sexual assault. I expect you to remain calm and poised while I do so, televised in front of millions, even if you know you're innocent. Let's see how that goes.
DP

I can think of quite a few instances where similar situations happened where someone was accused, rightly, or wrongly, and did not become as unhinged over it as Kavanaugh did.

Really? Similar situation as in, was falsely accused and then had to immediately be televised while refuting said allegations? Do tell. Examples please.

Sociopaths are very good at keeping calm in situations such as this. They are practiced. Ted Bundy was able to sit on a rape hotline and discuss his own murders with a detective friend he met there.

Yes. Which is why Kavanaugh very clearly is no sociopath. He reacted the way any human being falsely accused would act. Upset.

The "woke mob" stormed SCOTUS during these hearings. No evidence, no substantiation - they simply wanted Kavanaugh tarred and feathered because of a 35+ yr. old allegation. *That's* the behavior that is disgusting.

All he needed to do was the calmly say something like how he didn’t believe that he was possible of doing that, that he did have a drinking problem when he was a teenager and that he’s spent the rest of his life trying to be a supporter of women by hiring a greater percentage of female clerks than the vast majority of judges. People who would be willing to say that people can change from their 18-year old selves. Instead he lied about his drinking, he lied about his behaviors in high school and college and he went completely unhinged about the Clintons and how he hates all Democrats. Frankly we should only have justices who can rise above partisanship- instead was have an immoral, unhinged, extreme partisan on the court. Just what we need.

Then the response would have been there is something wrong with him reacting so coldly to accusation of rape.
Saying that he essentially confessed and is thus unqualified to serve.

This was the objective all along, to see if they could get Republicans to blink and not nominate a 5th conservative to the Supreme Court, and if they didn't do so, to have a black mark on him that they could use against him in the future, and serve as a threat to future nominees about what will happen to them.

Bull S. Do you think you could cry, scream, and accuse your interviewers of a conspiracy against you in a job interview? And get the job? LOL.
No. Putting aside the attempted rape allegations, he is temperamentally unfit to be on the Court. Period.

In a normal job interview, Kavanaugh would have won a huge lawsuit

Exactly.

+1000
Kavanaugh is unfit to serve. I've done a lot of hiring and I'd never hire a person who behaved the way he did.

How many times have you interviewed someone that you're also falsely accusing of sexual assault? GTFO.

Seriously. These people are psychopaths. I'd love to see how they'd react if they or a loved one was falsely accused like this.

Why should they have capitulated to false accusations? No. Kavanaugh was an excellent choice and picking someone else would have suggested that he was somehow guilty of these allegations. Which he wasn't. The Democrats tried and failed to intimidate.

Kavanaugh was not an excellent choice. There are dozens and dozens of other judges who would have been excellent in his place. He was installed because he is a member of the Federalist Society.

Also, it's a bold statement to call the accusations "false" given that while they weren't definitively proven, they also weren't actually ever You lack sufficient facts to call it "false accusations." Meanwhile, tens of millions of Americans believe Ford over Kavanaugh and found her to be more credible and believable than they found Kavanaugh to be. Also, Kavanaugh's behavior, like a toddler being told it's time to leave the playground, was disgraceful, unprofessional and unbecoming - and that IS a fact.

How would we react? An adult would remain composed, and consult legal counsel.

Here are some facts for you:
You have absolutely no substantiation or proof that he sexually assaulted anyone. You simply believe he's guilty - because one woman claims it is so, 35 years after alleged events allegedly happened. It is YOU who lack sufficient facts to label anyone guilty - there is something called "innocent until proven guilty" in this country. By that standard, he is innocent. And tens of millions of Americans believe Kavanaugh over Ford and found his emotional display of fury to be utterly human, relatable, and expected. THOSE are all facts.

The woke mob tried to bully SCOTUS and the Senate.

It didn't work. Thanks to the GOP.

Not true 4000 FBI tips not looked at disagree. I seriously doubt 4000 people waited on the phone for no reason.

This testimony “Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter. The uproarious laughter between the two, and their having fun at my expense.” Yet, just after she made this claim, she also testified that she happily approached Judge at the Safeway a week or so later and they casually talked. Really. It was that bad but yet she then sought him out as if nothing had happened.

If she had been properly cross examined, this is where the first pull on the thread of lies would have begun.

There is no proof what so ever his dad paid his bills. NONE.

And if so he didn't disclose come on daddy pays and you don't disclose? Wow

You get your idiotic posts deleted but then come right back again. Learn how to form a coherent sentence. Psst: it doesn't mean 4000 people had tips. It likely means LWNJ trolls, just like you, called 4000 times, over and over, in their futile and sad attempt to make sure Kavanaugh wouldn't be confirmed. So sorry your intimidation tactics didn't work.

She was clearly very effected and traumatized by what happened to her and he would never want his own daughters to endure such an event. BUT that he had no memory of having behaved in such a way. He didn’t remember that party and he didn’t remember her. And then pivot to all how he lives his life now.
I think they are both telling the truth.
His behavior was … inexplicable. Surely he was giving some guidance by professionals who deal in crisis PR. If he didn’t I question his judgement…. And if his JUDGEMENT is in question…

She doesn't believe her memories. They are different from the memories she had a few years prior when she told her therapist about them.
He didn't remember the party because he wasn't there. Ford was there when she was a little older, and drove home.
Even her friend who she claimed was at the party said she had no memory of it.
Ford expected her friend to join in the opportunity to prevent Kavanaugh from being appointed, but her friend Leland wouldn't go along with it, despite getting pressuring calls from others.
