| agreed with PP, I can't stop laughing at this post and the parents whining and complaining. |
Here’s another fact. Very disappointing that many team are underperforming and underachieving. |
| This is so funny am I the only parent who understands that the majority of these teams are playing with maybe half of their teams? Not only that the short-sided 7-7 format with only draws at the start and half is not even close to the full field game. I think everyone should be happy there DD has a warm indoor place to be able to play and build their skills in prep for the actual season that counts. |
People keep saying that they are only playing with 1/2 their squad. Why? Maybe done for basketball conflicts but if you aren’t playing 3/4-full team then you are behind the eight ball. This is just a poor excuse for sorry play. I can tell you we had girls upset at not getting a chance to play because we had too many. |
HAHA, no excuses here MY DD team has only one loss it's just a fact that not every school has 2,000- 3,000 plus students like a lot of the VA public schools have to pull from some of these schools are much smaller 400 or less and in schools that size a lot of the girl's play multiple sports. and in some cases, those smaller schools may only be able to field a varsity-only team for the HS season. Just saying none of these games actually matter your not winning a state championship or a WCAC title for how well you did or did not play indoors at the ST. James. Everyone should take a breath and just enjoy watching their DD play a game they love while they can still play it. |
If you aren't working everyone in during the winter, shame on you. This is the time to build skills and get looks. It's not about the "stars" getting their chance and playing to win. I feel bad for your kids. Field multiple teams if you need to. No one should be "upset" for not getting to play in winter. |
I could not agree more if you had so many girls that they all couldn't be on the team then why not field multiple teams it is allowed you know and they even have a JV division for the less skilled younger girls so they can compete with teams/girls with equal skill. |
The "STARS" have all burned out and fallen. |
|
| Calm down everybody the girls were upset. They couldn’t play varsity we fielded a JV team also 40 strong between both teams. |
Run on sentences, incoherent thoughts, poor grammar and the score / WCAC reference all point to this being the GC parent / coach. Welcome back to the chat |
| Go easy on the GC Head coach. He needs to rack up wins against ISL parent coaches at STJ. He got crushed by kj and the Saints squad last year. Also lost to Bucky and Visi. Two years ago he got smoked by SR by like 18-6. These STJ wins are important. |
| Too funny. You would have thought that GC’s winter ball experience in Baltimore against “GCS, SPSG, and McDonogh” would have prepared them better for their ISL opponents. |
|
Everyone hates the team that continues to beat them in the spring. Look at the boys HS thread. Same BS. “They break rules” “they recruit” “they give money” “they start early” …….
Remedy - Push your coach to be involved year round or take your kid to another school. You’re not mad at the coaches that are committed. You are mad at your coach for not having the same level of commitment. Tryouts start tomorrow. Let’s play. |
Pretty easy to say “we abide by the rules” when there’s no league enforcement of any rules and no school oversight to ensure they’re being followed. No one’s keeping anyone honest. If you don’t see that to be a problem, you’re part of the problem. |
