St James Winter Indoor League

Agree, this is about being accountable to the expectations set. If TSJ wants to set the expectation no scores will be kept and teams still register knowing this then coaches/parents/players cannot complain about the accuracy of scorekeeping.

But TSJ did not set this expectation. It was understood TSJ would keep scores and record these for standings. If TSJ sets this as the expectation they should hold themselves accountable for doing this to the highest standard. It’s their brand and that should mean something.

As noted by others, final scores in a winter league really don’t matter in the scheme of things. But tell this to a group of competitive players who will tell you they want to win. There is nothing wrong with this competitive spirit. And nothing wrong in questioning the efforts of those keeping score. It is not too much to ask TSJ to honor what they committed to doing, keeping accurate scores.

If TJS does not want to make this commitment and hold themselves accountable for accuracy they would be better off simply stating scores will not be kept. And let coachs/parents/players decided if they want to play. My guess is they will still play, but at least expectations will be aligned.

Agree, it's a nice facilty and provides alot of opportunity to play in the colder months. It's unfortunate that the 2 lacrosse directors running it all are not organized and make things more complicated.

What games had an incorrect final score on the opening weekend? From the complaining on this thread, sounds like every game!
Pretty sure the referees keep score and confirm that the score is correct, too.
Maybe the spectators can't keep track? They are human too. Just playing devils advocate.

Referees do not keep score. And yes that’s a fact.

Week one was okay. A lot of complete blow outs in the Varsity divisions but everyone knew that was going to happen.
Really, the format doesn’t tell you much about what the spring HS field side is going to look like but there is a weird shift out there in hillbilly land with Cville and Westfield. They are both quietly turning into traps for “better teams” and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Some referees did on Sunday. 100% fact.

It’s not last week it’s every week and every year. As previous poster mentioned it’s a lack of accountability.

Not so much on the scores but probably the lack of training of employees or guide rules during games.

If there was a St James employee training manual I’m sure it would start with

1. Look at your phone all game.

2 appear to be disconnected to the game in front of you.

Why continue to pay them money? Only an idiot continues to do something the same thing they despise years after year. I can’t even see the scoreboards let alone can tell what the kids are doing during the game. I guess ignorance is bliss, which explains why you’re pissed every game you go to.

Don’t count out the Hillbillies. The king of the Hillbillies (Battlefield) has an easy path back to the state finals again this year!

The st james league is just a winter practice. The good players focus on improving stick and foot work and other mechanics. The others fret about scores.

If TSTJ is so awful, I'm sure you could join an outdoor league. I think South County HS was looking for teams for a frost Fest, or hit up McLean Box league on the Football field .

Yeah, have fun with that.

Ha - Battlefield student population is primarily made up of 2 gated golf communities.
