1) A slutty slutterson who doesn’t even wear her full red gown and white wimple while running

2) A wrinkled crone who is aging too quickly

3) An over-exaggerating smiler

4) A teacher but probably a lazy trust fund teacher who is taking a job from someone who really needs it but who is also lazy but also she shouldn’t be working

5) A selfish, slutty, stupid athlete who runs at the wrong time of day but also doesn’t even run fast enough to run away from someone who surprised her, maybe with a weapon, like geez girl why couldn’t you outsprint him

6) On drugs herself. We’re just guessing, but maybe probably

Good thing when bad things happen, angels among us swoop in to help. Y’all are like those helpers that Mr. Rogers always told us to look for in a bad situation.

😆

And don’t forget the black nail polish!

What an autistic, exaggerating-smiling, black-polish-wearing, tattoo-tolerating, too-slow-running, lazy rich slut. But thoughts and prayers TM.

I think the realization that some lowly preK teacher might secretly be able to buy and sell their ass has a few DCUMers reaching for the smelling salts

Maybe issues with her birth family?

I’d say that’s a safe bet since she took the name of her low caste addict husband. Not even hyphenated. Very weird for someone so rich and from such an old money family.

Would you stop it already?

We don't know what happened, and calling him "low caste" is super weird.

Are you from Tennessee or the South? Old money doesn’t “mix” with men like that. This isn’t some low class millionaire because her dad owns a Ford dealership. She’s a bonafide billionaire WASP debutante educated at the region’s most elite private school. Plus private bachelor’s and master’s. Old money in Memphis even considers the FedEx founder to be nouveau riche. It is very strange she married a man like this and also took his name. And he’s publicly posting screeds about how rocky their marriage is? Bizarre.

Please stop with this nonsense. A lot of people on this board have such outdated stereotypes of the wealthy and rich people.

Also, don't get me started on the outdated ideas of status. It's clear so many baby boomers and Gen X have no evolved.

This is so scary. I hope they find her alive. Her poor family.

In this daily mail article there is a photo of the police towing her family car. Seems kind of odd unless they were trying to rule out any involvement from family members at the time.

Is the husband the same age or older/younger?

Goodness. How do you know she is a lovely person?

NP. Why are you so eager to tear down a mom who was kidnapped?

That's my best guess at this point, based on what is known. If so, neither her spouse's "lower caste" nor her "high caste" had any direct impact on this occurrence.

My guess is that she was aware of dangers and crime in Memphis in the abstract but had not been personally adversely affected. She'd run in the dark at various hours a countless number of times with nothing happening to her. This was the time that fit best with her schedule and when she was most likely to complete the run.

The fact is that we are "lucky," for lack of a better word, when bad things do not happen to us. We can minimize risk factors, yes, but we can't completely control everything.

+1 The accused is a person with a criminal history. He kidnapped someone previously. Very likely a random opportunity in the darkness of early morning. Streets practically empty at that time.

Her rich family should have never let some low class dirtbag like her husband get without 500 ft of her — let alone marry and procreate with this man. Blame her elders who certainly had the resources to dissolve this relationship before it began.

People have already convicted this man just because he was not born rich. The only evidence so far is that he was the husband. Can we wait until there’s something concrete before deeming this man a lowlife. and being born rich, surrounded by other rich people does not make such people good, high trust individuals. The classism in these posts reek. You are not better than others simply because you were born on third-base financially.

NP. So…less-than-lovely moms deserve to be kidnapped? Or less-than-lovely single women? Tell me exactly the caliber of person we should care about and hope is found safely, versus those we can just know got what they had coming to them?

Don't forget about his full sleeve of tattoos!

She’s not pretty. Maybe she too suffered from an addiction, and they bonded.

Any of you who have taken the Metro after dark (and in the winter, that means about 6 p.m.), even once, can take several seats before you lecture other people about safety.

Think of your choices during college. As a young professional, going to happy hours and walking or taking an Uber in the dark. Ever used a dating app? Bought or sold anything on Craigslist? Got a ride from a friend of a friend? Gone to a New Year’s Eve party at a bar and turned away from your drink, even from one second?

None of you—NONE of you judgmental harpies has been perfectly safe 100% of the time. Admit it. And here you are judging a mom for running. There but for the grace of God go you, so you cannot be so hypocritical.

I agree, but all that you said is very dangerous and should not be encouraged by family members or friends. We should quit thinking that we can do whatever we want whenever we want with little regard for the safety issue. Criminals and potential criminals look for opportunities.
