Tests are available. Masks are available. Vaccines & boosters are available. HVAC systems have been upgraded/supplemented.

If you have concerns about a specific classroom there is no harm bringing in a CO2 monitor to verify adequate ventilation.

Available means nothing if not used. Same thing with a co2 monitor if mcps or the monitoring parent does not pay for repairs.

JFC you people are helpless. Get your kids good masks and test them at home yourself- it is much easier and cheaper to get rapid tests than it was last year. You can pull them at lunch if you're worried about that but with the staffing shortage there is no way most ESs can staff the additional supervision and setup/breakdown needed for outdoor lunches.

And I still don't understand how you all would want to achieve "distancing" anyway without going back to hybrid- there aren't enough classrooms or teachers. And moer and more research coming out that the 6ft rule is obsolete anyway.

One kid masking is not going to help. Tests are $20 each. Not everyone is in es. Our school has 7 rotating classes plus home room and lunch, crowded halls and 30-35 kids in a classroom.

You can also see about ordering tests through your insurance (we did) but again if you’re not going anywhere I guess you don’t need them.

My doctor told me if you wear a KN95 over an N95 it boosts your protection to 98%. Should be sufficient for a grab-and-go, at our library they are just sitting on a table. Maybe toss on a face shield too for good measure.

Our insurance lets you pick up at their facility but not order them.
