CO2 is important for many aspects of air quality. Monitor it at the ** schools (the known list of bad hvac systems). |

CO2 monitoring is standard for monitoring adequate ventilation.
Not sure why anyone would be opposed to a parent sending one in. |
I’m not opposed to CO2 monitoring in general, but I’d probably take any sort of parent-student-monitoring with a huge grain of salt. I don’t know anything about the accuracy of your equipment, for one thing. Get together with some like minded parents or the pta and submit a grant application to get a proper research team to conduct a study. |
Piddle around with ventilation during an airborne pandemic? Why do you care about mold. Suck it up and get used to it. You don't care about a pandemic, why would you care about mold? |
It's already been done, hon. The Board of Education doesn't care if you get sick and miss school. The less people that show up, the less work they have to do. Educating the few is easier than educating everyone. |
Or. Get a decent monitor. If you see any abnormal results, submit an Air Quality report and MCPS will do a better check of that classroom. |
LOL

| LOL, dc moms are crazy |
Really? So the kids in this area are stupid? They aren't smart? They haven't learned how covid spreads or how to keep people safe? Interesting that so many stupid people live in Montgomery County but we are supposed to have one of the best school systems. Must not be so great if parents are all so stupid. |
They know and don’t care. Be real. |
A co2 monitor isn't going to help without many other layers in place. This is theater for attention. |
Right. Other layers are in place. This is just another data point. Jeez. People are just looking for things to complain about.
|
What are you talking about! There is no mitigation this school year. No masking, no distancing, no testing, no nothing. Plan to get Covid multiple times. What is the big deal, clearly you are ok with Covid? |
JFC you people are helpless. Get your kids good masks and test them at home yourself- it is much easier and cheaper to get rapid tests than it was last year. You can pull them at lunch if you're worried about that but with the staffing shortage there is no way most ESs can staff the additional supervision and setup/breakdown needed for outdoor lunches. And I still don't understand how you all would want to achieve "distancing" anyway without going back to hybrid- there aren't enough classrooms or teachers. And moer and more research coming out that the 6ft rule is obsolete anyway. |
Tests are available. Masks are available. Vaccines & boosters are available. HVAC systems have been upgraded/supplemented. If you have concerns about a specific classroom there is no harm bringing in a CO2 monitor to verify adequate ventilation. |
