So the kids in this area are stupid? They aren't smart? They haven't learned how covid spreads or how to keep people safe? Interesting that so many stupid people live in Montgomery County but we are supposed to have one of the best school systems. Must not be so great if parents are all so stupid.
A co2 monitor isn't going to help without many other layers in place. This is theater for attention.
Right. Other layers are in place. This is just another data point. Jeez. People are just looking for things to complain about.
What are you talking about! There is no mitigation this school year. No masking, no distancing, no testing, no nothing. Plan to get Covid multiple times. What is the big deal, clearly you are ok with Covid?
JFC you people are helpless. Get your kids good masks and test them at home yourself- it is much easier and cheaper to get rapid tests than it was last year. You can pull them at lunch if you're worried about that but with the staffing shortage there is no way most ESs can staff the additional supervision and setup/breakdown needed for outdoor lunches. And I still don't understand how you all would want to achieve "distancing" anyway without going back to hybrid- there aren't enough classrooms or teachers. And moer and more research coming out that the 6ft rule is obsolete anyway.
One kid masking is not going to help. Tests are $20 each. Not everyone is in es. Our school has 7 rotating classes plus home room and lunch, crowded halls and 30-35 kids in a classroom.
The libraries have FREE TESTS. Pick up sone books while you’re at it, would do you good. One way masking is effective if you get a quality, well fitted mask and actually wear it the entire time. Half the kids were wearing crummy cloth masks anyway, you pretty much have the same serious families wearing the good masks as before. But sure, keep your kid in virtual if this is too hard and you want zero risk.
Libraries only give out a few free tests and you have to go indoors to get them. Not all of us go indoors.
You can hold a sign up at their window and see if they'll toss a few outside. Race back to the safety of your car as they contemplate your request.
