Think of any child crossing the border as a new child born to America. What’s the difference? That they are poor? Poor Americans will have more babies that they can afford thanks to no availability of abortions in many states now… so this is the same.
Save the immigrant babies, save America…to paraphrase Pence 🤷‍♀️…I don’t see the difference between a baby been born on this side or on the other side of the border to a family who cannot support them.

The difference is a language barrier, not knowing what schooling they’ve had thus far, potentially not being up to date on vaccines, medical care, dental, etc. Having no record of schooling.

Then she should move the drop off point to right near the White House. Just let the buses unload them around the White House and the police and security can figure out what to do with them.

I work near there and would support this.

And I applaud the Governor of Texas for doing this. No one cares until it's on their doorstep.

The Reagan Building has bus bays and also has a food court. https://rrbitc.com/meal-voucher-program/

Agree that the Governor of Texas is effectively raising awareness of the reality of the lack of control at our Southern border.

All sanctuary cities should be offered as optional destinations.

Are you really endorsing using human bodies and desperation to make a political point? You DONT use kids and people to raise awareness. Full Stop.

Are you kidding me? The use of human suffering, desperation, pain, etc. is used to make what seems like the vast majority of political points.

This. At this point, the best national strategy is to send all migrants to sanctuary cities like NY and DC. In less than a year, you’ll have the federal government addressing the southern border. It’s way easier to not care about something you don’t see.

The difference is they aren’t American. You eventually have to have some sort of standard for taking care of people or you end up with no standards. How is an American child any different than a mexican child? What about a poor Israeli child?

Do you have any idea how much open borders would destroy this country? All of a sudden YOUR child would have less to eat. Then you’d understand why the priority needs to be Americans and why borders matter.

+1000. We can’t take everyone who wants to come here. No other country does this. They have limits and standards. What is the end game here?

It feels hopeless that the Democrats won’t address this. It’s not good for anyone and it makes the D’s lose credibility. If we are going to stand for truth, we can’t be selective about it.

Union Station is MUCH better since the tents were taken down. Still too many loiterers in the arcade area.

Democrats, obviously. This is not happening in red states. #defundthepolice

It’s happening in all of the cities that have gentrified over the past twenty years or so. The homeless, mentally ill and addicted have always lived here but they used to live in boarding houses, cheap motels, mental institutions and vacant homes. Those options don’t exist anymore.

Something needs to be done about this homeless problem!

Two years after Starbucks left Union Station in D.C., setting off fears of a doom loop, the company is returning with an even bigger store.

Now Rexmark, commercial landlord for Union Station, is appealing Amtrak's retail takeover by eminent domain:

Yes about 1/3 of the stores are gone and many seats are gone but I saw no homeless people. Felt totally safe. Long line at Starbucks and other food places were busy. I use it as a cool spot to get steps in the summer and will continue to.

Same here … I work nearby and take the metro most days … and often grab lunch there. Not sure what the snowflakes are concerned about.

+1 Every time I go there I try to look and around and figure out what people on here are talking about. I think they must be trolls, but what's the agenda?

The problem may not be what you think it is.
