And to think … Union Station was once a coveted wedding venue??? |
NP and the solution is known and exists - asylum is for those who are in credible fear for their life because they believe if they return to their country they will be harmed by the government, military, or some other large institution. Asylum is not for people who were poor in their home country or who say well my boyfriend maybe hit me so I am afraid for my life or there are some drug pushers in my neighborhood. And all those immigrants who arrive here - 90% will stay and their kids will need the resources of the school, they will need to be housed, need medical care, formula, diapers, etc |
The Department of Defense has denied D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's request for the National Guard to help with the influx of migrants in the District. Bowser requested the activation of the D.C. National Guard last month, citing a “humanitarian crisis.” |
Then she should move the drop off point to right near the White House. Just let the buses unload them around the White House and the police and security can figure out what to do with them. I work near there and would support this. And I applaud the Governor of Texas for doing this. No one cares until it's on their doorstep. |
Agree that the Governor of Texas is effectively raising awareness of the reality of the lack of control at our Southern border. All sanctuary cities should be offered as optional destinations. |
Are you really endorsing using human bodies and desperation to make a political point? You DONT use kids and people to raise awareness. Full Stop. |
Yes you actually do. It’s the main way to raise awareness in this country. How do you think so many bills in the congress aimed at helping and bringing awareness are passed. Think of the Amber Act and Noah’s Law. When organizations want to make a point or raise funds. They use a story. A story of someone’s desperation or hardship. The 10 year old girl that was raped and had to go to another state for an abortion is a very recent one that obviously made an impact on the people of Kansas. Everyone here that likes to put signs on their lawn and scream ‘humans aren’t illegal’ , likes to proclaim that they are ‘sanctuary’ cities, that they would welcome the world with open arms—- But the NIMBY comes out in full effect when you actually have to see and live with what that actually means. Own it. Full stop. |
+2 As an immigrant, I fully endorse this. It's plain common sense. |
This is the exact situation. And my neighbors on Capitol Hill- yes the one with the signs- volunteer to help every migrant who comes with clothes & food. We are constantly doing drives to help. |
The law requires a *hearing* - see post above. |
<< And all those immigrants who arrive here - 90% will stay and their kids will need the resources of the school, they will need to be housed, need medical care, formula, diapers, etc>>
Think of any child crossing the border as a new child born to America. What’s the difference? That they are poor? Poor Americans will have more babies that they can afford thanks to no availability of abortions in many states now… so this is the same. Save the immigrant babies, save America…to paraphrase Pence 🤷♀️…I don’t see the difference between a baby been born on this side or on the other side of the border to a family who cannot support them. |
+1 Progressives are becoming notorious for failing time and time again to practice what they preach. |
Union Station is a cesspool and noone would work there if they had a better option.
It's not about unions |
I agree. I'm so tired of immigration being an untouchable subject. |
It used to be beautiful. |
